So it seems that I'm the first to post in 2024. In order to immerse myself in auspiciousness for the new year, I chose Mousse Illuminée. The shave was great - by far, the best this year, at least so far.

Great soap scent. I enjoyed the rest of it, too.

Fougère Classique and Heather are a fun combo that enjoy a lot. FC has an almost grumpy intensity, and Heather is so light and playful. Nicely done

First head shave of 2024! 2 passes, WTG and ATG/XTG. No scents, but a very comfortable shave.

I'd like to wish everyone here a happy new year! As for myself, unfortunately not so much happiness... Since it finally sunk in that I will not only leave my old job, but also my most precious favourite colleagues behind there's not been a single day where I haven't cried at least once. It's hard to understand for others - but nursing is one of those professions where you really grow together: you're working weekends, holidays and different shifts together. You'll start to know each other very well and you stick together. Hell, 4 of them have grown so close to me that I would consider them a second family... So it's really hard for me. Even though it's the right decision, as one of them who was my mentor will also leave the place at the end of January. So the collective would have been broken anyway...

But my heart still aches, even though we will all keep in contact and will hopefully meet up in private. Tomorrow I will have my first early shift at my new nursing home - I try to focus on the positives and will try to present myself as motivated as possible, but currently it's harsh times for me emotionally. But I refuse to give up - better days will be coming, hopefully soon!

  First shift is long behind me, so far I can say it's way different than the old place. I'll see how close I will grow with the new team... At least it'll be a good place to finish my retraining as an RN successfully.

A while ago, I started to get intrigued by the Alumigoose razor. This elusive Artist Club razor seems to be loved by all owners, and I'm trying to get my hands on one. They are really difficult to find at a good price, though. I talked about it on discord and heavy duty wettuber, half marathon runner, generous wetshaving enabler, and recent GRUYE aficionado VisceralWatch has very kindly suggested to try the WR4 instead and he has loaned me his aluminium WR4 head. Today I've used it for the first time. l have some Artist Club razor experience, but not much, just VisceralWatch's Feather DX, Semaj's wife's Hawk v2, and J33pGuy13's Colonial General.

I like how easy it is to immediately find the right angle, and the razor has good feedback. I think I'm really going to enjoy this over the next few days.

The scents today are meant to be very different kinds of "fresh", and I'm happy will how well they work together.

VisceralWatch is a truly inspiring shave figure. I should have the opportunity to buy him a coffee tomorrow with any luck.

I ordered a WR4 after using that prototype. My only other experience with an SE Artist Club razor was my Vector. I can get a great shave from the Vector (because: technique), but the goofy squared off threaded post bothers me. It offers a small benefit at a large cost in risk. Way too easy to cross-thread. I don't find the Vector a joy to use. OTOH, I like everything about the WR4.
- Yeah, that squared-off thread post is trying to be too clever. It makes me think of all the cool concept cars that never go into mass adoption.

Apart from my first DE, a Maggard MR5, all my razors are vintage. It’s really interesting to explore all these different kinds in the thread.

2nd shave with my new brush. Holy crap, this thing is great! Builds a rich, creamy lather in just seconds, and puts it on so smooth and soft. Highly recommended.

First, Happy New Year to all! I wish you success in all your endeavors.

2023 was a good year for me, and I started it off with Succès. This seems like a good tradition to establish. Since 2024 will likely be full of historic events here in the states, I think I will use my other Aventus clones (Executive Man, Venture) for the next two days to establish the foundation for whatever karma I might need this year.
