I just started a fresh run with a friend a couple days ago. I sort of have my DM hat on and am just letting her go around, making her own decisions and mistakes. This is also the first CRPG she's ever played, and she accidentally clicked on Lae'zel when trying to break her out of the tiefling trap. I was amazed they gave Lae'zel a voice line about that in the dialogue!
Playing with someone that has a fresh set of eyes on the game is often making me feel like I'm playing this for the first time again. Highly recommend!
Makes me think we also need a BG3 "looking for player" community -- or at least a pinned thread maybe. Not a problem I'm suffering from as of writing, but I've benefit plenty from "looking for group" subs back on ye old reddit.
I do a coop campaign at the same time as my solo campaign and my friend did the same. It's awesome how we figured out things together, especially in the temple of Shar. It's also fun to discuss solo campaigns with other people because how it is different even if it's the same game. My most obvious example in that case is what happens with auntie Ethel, as we discussed several minutes about it because of 4 different outcomes in 4 campaigns.
