All the emails came from one address and carried an identical message, according to the Mainichi newspaper in Japan.

- This is unconscionable and should be dealt with severely. Not to downplay it at all but calling it 8,000 death threats is misleading.
  
  It was probably some idiot running scripts on their laptop. I expect email systems detect this activity easily and block it, but I guess not.
Thats such an insane over reaction that its unbelievable, and yeah all 8000 were the same message sent by the same person from the same email address, still disturbing but while technically true the headline implies something entirely different from the actual story.
- As much as I'd love to shit on Japan, that headline is basically a lie, even if true.
  The implication of receiving 8000 messages is that thousands of people sent those messages, not one dude running a bash script.
