Bobbie bee-lining to the cucumber sandwiches (and basically eating the whole tray) is a nice touch.

Cucumbers are a pretty wasteful vegetable. They require a lot of water to grow and aren't very nutritious. Since Mars has to be very efficient with their agricultural output, cucumbers would be a rare treat.

I told people that for a time, and I stopped buying them, but I missed their freshness.
Toast with cheese tastes boring? Add cucumber slices.
Still, I would adapt if they went out of business.
