Any communities for finding alternatives to stuff?
Couldn't find anything by browsing around. Looking for a community to ask about alternatives to stuff, like an alternative to a social media, or an alternative to something else in general, things like that, anything would be appreciated.
It hasn't gained much traction yet but there's !likethismaylike@lemm.ee specifically for that.
I'm not sure if there is a specific community for 'alternatives', and you might be better off asking in the communities for a particular topic. That way you're more likely to reach people that know about the options that are available. Some general communities that come to mind:

Thx for this! Much appreciated! Although when I posted in the nostupidquestions one I only got swarmed with exclusively political responses (that didn't even answer my question) and even one guy being an ass about it, even though I didn't ask anything political at all, nor did I want that...
Is there anything like that community but less toxic and unhelpful by any chance?

You can maybe try on !ask@lemm.ee next time, I mod there and I try to keep a nicer atmosphere.
