Trump says he wants Ukraine's rare earth elements as a condition of further support
President Donald Trump on Monday indicated that he wants to reach an agreement with Ukraine to gain access to the country’s rare earth elements as a condition for continuing U.S. support for its war against Russia.

There are a few deaths that will make me smirk, maybe a few that will make me grin. There are very few, potentially just one, death that will make me legitimately celebrate. As long as a few specific people walk the earth, it is difficult to believe in justice. And karma, forget about it, that shit is fully debunked at this point.

If I found out tomorrow that he died a 12 hour long agonizing death from some brand new undiscovered condition I would be simultaneously elated at his suffering and utterly disappointed that it didn't last twice as long. I hope something comes along that changes him for the better and he finally learns the joy of loving something more than himself. Then I hope fate rips that away in the cruelest fashion, leaving him to spend the rest of his days a weeping and broken husk. He deserves worse than even the darkest, most Eldritch horror can bestow upon him.

I know it’s extortion, but if Trump thinks he’s getting a deal he will definitely defend Ukraine. Might be the least bad outcome for Ukraine.
And the elements arnt even the rare or valuable part, its the processing. Just be sure not to make Cuba's mistake and put a damned expiration date on that lease.

This is just another example of Trump announcing "deals" which were negotiated before he was in office. The trade war with Mexico was postponed due to Mexico promising to do something they were already doing. I'm guessing the same happened with Canada but didn't look into it.
Pretty sure Ukraine would agree to some deal on that- especially if the US went all in on arming them.
