That was very cool! I had no idea about that reference!
I wouldn't say it's the most entertaining or deepest anime i've ever watched.
It's not even the deepest or most entertaining anime this season.
So far it's just... okay?
I have also noticed some dips in brightness in some shows.
Sounds like an encoding problem, or some sort of form of copy protection in the streamed video that screws up the encoding algorithms, like the old Macrovision copy protection on VHS tapes.
Great job by Tanjiro's VA at deliberately being annoying!
The whole self pity/angst thing from Giyu wasn't so great.
You'd someone who has trained hard enough to become a Hashira would have more mental fortitude.
I mean, we all have bad days, but this isn't that kind of show.
That's what passes for character development in this show.
A nice series of fight sequences with D, disguised as Hibiki, engaging in simulated combat against low-level colored rangers as part of the entrance exam.
There's tension as D cannot risk getting hit by anything, or he'll be revealed as a Duster.
It's a fun, tense battle, while we're wondering about D's plan to beat these guys.
I fell behind following this show, and my thoughts on episodes 4-7 are...
The CG characters continue to be really well done. The girls have a lot of personality in their body language, and the visual composition is really good, even if the POV is a little flat, and we don't get cartoony asides, like Bocchi turning into a worm, for example.
I especially enjoy watching best girl Subaru, the long dark haired drummer, the comic relief in the group, despite her serious acting training and hime/princess hairstyle which implies a wealthy background.
The music is carried by Nina, the MC's, stylish vocals, but for a story about a band, the mixing seems to almost mute the the instruments. At least in these episodes the producers seemed to get the mix of instruments correct to what is shown on screen. The audience seems strangely inaudible, which they shouldn't be in the tiny venues they're supposed to be playing in.
The story itself involves a lot of fears of abandonment. Nina, and two other girls were previously abandoned by bandmates. Momoka, who left a rising band on the verge of stardom, wants to give up music. Subaru wants to leave her famous actress grandmother's shadow: She's even named after her grandma's breakout role. But she's afraid to tell her grandma she wants to follow her own path.
Anyway, a lot of "I'm leaving the band!" announcements drive the drama
Wind Breaker gets a well deserved #1, followed by twin girl rocker series Girls Band Cry, and Jellyfish.
New Gate shows surprising strength for a crap story
Big drops for Astro Note, Shuumatsu Train, and Yozakura Family, and a huge drop for Re: Monster

Mu-chan and the yokai talk seriously about mortality and the differing lifespans. It's implied that Jiro was in love with Mu-chan's great-grandmother.
Tear jerking story about Kazuhiko and his late wife Namiko, who happened to be descended from a banana tree spirit, a Basho No Sei hence her green eyes and hair.
Other yokai and food references, in this episode:
Umibozu - Giant sea spirit who portends bad ocean conditions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umibōzu
Gohei Mochi -Burned rice on a stick with nuts, soy sauce, miso and mirin http://kyoudo-ryouri.com/en/food/385.html
Deitarabocchi - Giant spirit whose footprints make lakes and ponds - Said in the show to become Umibozu when the move out to sea??? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daidarabotchi
Okari-inu - Dog shaped yokai that follows travellers and eats them if they show tiredness - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okuri-inu
Betobeto-san - A spirit that follows people walking at night https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betobeto-san
The show follows the comics quite closely.
The guy who just got out of prison, Kojima, is a hardcore old-school Yakuza, i.e. before Japan really cracked down on the Yakuza
He gets into old school shakedowns and violence for money, like something out of a Scorcese gangster movie.
Even shaking down Fable, without knowing who he really is...
First guild job for not-Kirito and friend, escorting a merchant while traveling, and of course they are attacked.
I'm bored with this already.
The screenshot indicates the highest level of writing in this episode.
The team's first mission, and it seems like a routine takedown.
It looks like the big kaiju referred to as Honju carry lots of little kaiju called Yonju, so that's why lots of squad members are needed.
Honju 本獣 means "original or main beast"
Yonju 余獣 means "extra or additional beast"
The idea of a big kaiju hosting lots of little kaiju is similar to the monsters Legion from Gamera: Attack of Legion, and Clover from Cloverfield
That's right about the time No Game No Life S2 is scheduled for production
Human figures are easier to draw without clothes on. This is true of all figure art, not just anime.
Draw the figures first, get those accurate, then add the clothes.
That's a terrible idea!
How would you even cut off 25% of everyone's bodies to get a quarter of the population?
Or just show the VAs speaking while waving paper cutout characters.
Also, I could totally see an episode of Blue Lock presented in powerpoint.

It's a statement of suspicion, not a conclusion of causality towards glyphosate specifically.
Numerous red flags over the future of anime are raised by long-time industry professionals following the Japanese yen's continued fall.

Russian forces have made two cross border assaults inside northern Ukraine, according to information from Ukrainian sources and officials – in what President Volodymyr Zelensky is calling a ‘new wave of counteroffensive actions” by Russia.
Russian bastards have invaded across the border in 2 regions northeast of Kharkiv, to stretch Ukrainian forces, which are already short of both equipment and manpower:
- Towards the villages of Strilecha, Pylyna, Borysivka, and Krasne towards Oliynykove just north and slightly east of Kharkiv
and
- Towards Ohirtseve and Vovchansk, northeast of Kharkiv
> Ukraine’s Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, disputed that the five villages in the Kharkiv Region had been captured.
> “Heavy fighting continues in Strilecha, Pylyna, Borysivka, in the area of Oliynykove and Ohirtseve. The fighting continues in the area of those settlements that were actually in the ‘grey zone’ […] There is no threat of a ground operation for Kharkiv. The Defense Forces are doing everything possible to hold their positions. All government agencies are working on the ground,” Syniehubov said.
On the toolbar, there's a magnifying glass icon that I'm calling search.
I enter the search page by clicking on that icon.
On the search page, there are a number of communities, and at the bottom, there's a Random Community button.
When I click on Random Community, I am sent to !100yearsago@sh.itjust.works
So far so good.
When I backswipe to go back to the search page, and click on Random Community again, I get a yellow error dialog saying "Failed to find random community"
No choice but to go back to the search page.
Random Community again returns me to 100yearsago
Back and Random Community gives me the yellow "Failed to find random community" dialog.
Ad infinitum
Edit: I am using Android v2.9.1
