NGL: I hope that is not the final design because it looks rather cumbersome to actually hold.
So did the Deck but it ended up being pretty ergonomic in practice.
The angle looks a bit odd too, Iโd expect those grips to be more prominent if it wasnโt angled down
It looks like the inbred cousin of the Xbox "Duke" that ended up being surprisingly ergonomical. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely hope it's something close to that. Most controllers are too small for me.
It'd be cool if controllers could just be adjustable size. Hand sizes are wild. My fingers are pretty short; my best friend has E.T. length fingers. We are otherwise about the same height and build.
Duke? Is that the Xbox 1 pad? Because I actually loved that. It's a chunker but was very comfortable for my larger hands. Reminded me a lot about the Dreamcast gamepads.
lol
It is the Steam Deck without the screen. Just the controller I ever wanted
I really hope the VR controller can be used without VR. Stop forcing my hands together! I want freedom!
Loved the Wii for the ability to hold my hands independent of each other.
Well the joy-cons kinda do that but if you wanted something that's actually adult sized you'd have to check 3rd party options and there's probably no guarantee that it will work on anything other than the Switch.
All I hope for is that the Controller fits well in my long thin hands - like the fat Steam Controller does.
With the right joystick in place, it's certainly a product I may buy. The Steam Controller trackpad was not a sufficient alternative for joystick input when most games designed input with the right joystick in mind. Aiming and camera control with a variable and non-tactile deadzone and input default of trackpad camera controls has always been annoying to me.
Offtopic story: Sometime ago I needed 2 gamepads. So I went to the mall and bought 2 Acer gamepads for 35โฌ each. I unboxed them right after I left the shop. They were wired and looked and felt exactly like 5โฌ chinese gamepads. So I immediately returned them and went to another shop in the same mall where I got a pair of Speedlink Rait controllers for 22โฌ each. They feel very well-built, just like an xbox controller and are supported by all OS and console emulators out of the box. It basically shows up as a Switch Pro controller, so it's perfectly supported by Yuzu.
