Inflation is down and a recession is unlikely. What went right?

A few years ago, nobody thought that a soft landing was possible

They just changed how the numbers were recorded is all.
- Soften the landing by softening the numbers. Brilliant!
Inflation is not down. It has never went negative. Its just not going up 6.5% a year anymore.
- If it was 6.5% and it's now less, is it not down?
  
  Nah, looks like its up like 19.3% since 2020
