You see, it's just a coincidence that he is running against someone who is black and Indian and he just happened to pick the two most racist and stereotypical dishes associated with each.
- The first one was chosen for him, he's reacting to a racist tweet. The second one is his own additional racism. It is an excellent display of how effortlessly racist he can be. Repubs enjoy things like this.

I knew I didn't imagine that! Reminds me of when my ex-advisor in a grad program brought up fried chicken during a rant while arguing with a black student about something completely unrelated.
