Favourite controllers
  • I went for the GameSir G7 SE, one black and one white, so me and the missus have our own controllers. The black one has a click to the face button which is quite nice.

I thought I would miss wireless, but the batteries draining on my wireless pad (official) and the slight delay means I prefer the G7 instead. The cable is long enough that we can sit comfortably back on the sofa from our 55" screen. Oh, and the pads came with a month of Game Pass Ultimate so really helped justify them (just over $30 each?). Never thought I'd live to see a third-party controller this good, sold my official one for more than I paid for these.

  • And a special mention for the Samba de Amigo controllers which I only got to use once because... I thought I would be able to pick a set up after seeing two in GAME (for maybe £99.99 inc. the game?), then ended up selling out and never coming back into stock.

  • Steam is now banned in Vietnam
  • This was about a week ago, since then it was unblocked, then reblocked. Note, this is only the store itself (and the store within Steam), you can still play your existing games, so it seems they have blocked the store front to hamstring or reduce sales so that Valve will then pay whatever tax amount is going to be asked for.

Any recommendations of an online ASD/ADHD psychiatrist/counsellor?

The place I want to do an online session with is not so responsive online and mainly (or solely?) does in-person visits, in a different country.

Looking for a recommendation for ASD/ADHD support, someone who is knowledgeable about meds (I already have mine), side effects, long-term usage, etc.

    Thanks.

Which software is best for making a video with presentation?

I am trying to do short presentations (3-5 slides) and would like my video (MacBook Air M2, if that's of help) in the corner, explaining what's on screen at the same time. The only audio would be from my headset or computer microphone.

Google Slides used to have the feature but I can't find it anymore. The easier the better (so recording once rather than recording the video, then overlaying it on the slideshow would be better).

    Thanks!

Changed meds, now getting irrationally angry on downtime

I was initially given Ritalin (10mg pills) to try out; I cut them into four pieces each and spread it over the next month and a half. It worked well, allowed me to work, and felt 'smooth'.

I ran out, found that they are expensive here (I was diagnosed and prescribed a week of pills - 14 - initially in Taiwan), and went to Thailand (neighbouring country) to get more. Turns out the place I went to only had Rubifen, a generic variant. It was about the same as I paid for Ritalin so I thought why not, and got enough to get me through the next year.

Fast forward a month and a half... when I am on my 'off' days (Sat & Sun, when I don't need to work or study), I am now reacting to things pretty badly. I snapped at my partner very easily, I almost put a window through because I knocked a bottle over, and generally had a miserable weekend. With Rubifen, I feel fine, able to complete tasks, work and whatnot. Without it I'm not sure I should be around other people. Is this normal? Will it level off or should I go and get something else instead?

VAR testing my patience - Everton boss Dyche

Issues with slow-motion video replays are nothing new, they make crimes look worse (and increase incarceration rates), and football is no different. Full speed or nothing, would be my suggestion. I'm also unsure as to why the referee also needs to look at a tackle in addition to multiple VAR referees.
