Sunday Was Gaming Day: What Are You Playing Weekly Thread
Forgot to post this yesterday. Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Because I hate myself, I have started playing Borderlands 3 for the 1st time. It's actually quite tolerable when playing with the dialogue muted. The main villains being a streamer duo is very funny to me in a way Gearbox probably didn't intend. Anyway, have a good week everyone
Such a chill relaxing game. The amount of stuff they have added over the years has been astounding. I think if they launched in early access initially rather than pretending their launch version was a finished game, No Mans Sky would be considered one of the great early access success stories. There's just so much to do in the game now and although none of it is "meaningful" it's a fucking game, and I think most of it is very enjoyable.
I started this today. I played on and off all early access so it's awesome to finally see it done. Can't wait to see what they do next. I kinda hope for a DLC/Expansion like Factorio but it would be cool to see them move on to something else as well.
I've started Elden Ring, playing on my xbox one series s and it is slowww as shit and ugly to boot. I bounced off it hard at launch but am going to do my damndedest to play a Fromsoft game to completion to see what it is all about.
Also Slay the Spire. September is a month of A20 Defect runs for me. So far only 2 heart kills this month and am getting slapped in act one most runs. tough going!
Eh I enjoy playing the game at its highest level but I’m not a high level player. In a month of playing (I typically play a little every morning over coffee) I’ll have maybe 2-3 winning runs.
Best of luck in climbing the spire! Clad is my favorite character.
Borderlands 3 is genuinely a very good game to play but as you say muted. I didn't find it as grating as borderlands 2 though so thats something I guess. The gunplay is fantastic though and visually its beautiful to look at.
Currently I'm playing no mans sky, the fishing addition is quite a bit of fun and the first fishing planet in the expedition is gorgeous. Other than that playing some death stranding, persona 2 EP and finishing chasing static in preparation for hollowbody. And as always, constantly thinking about kingsfield
Got into Magic Arena and been playing Bloomburrow drafts almost every day. I will lose interest as soon as Bloomburrow drafts rotate out. It's such a good set and I love adorable woodland critters and stories about cooperation.
I wanted to draft more in paper but my mom got the coof so I missed this last chance to draft 😑 Seriously whose idea was it to only have a month between releases?
I like Duskmorn...except for the humans in modern clothing. Cheerleader outfits don't make any sense. I heard a rumor the set was supposed to tie in with some Ghostbusters crossover, but the deal fell through and they just used the art for it anyway.
Nobody's mentioned Rinworld yet, I played like 15 hours over the weekend, getting one of the endings for the Anomaly DLC. My current goal is to get everybodys genetics locked in, and everyone getting bionic limbs before I sell the place for an archotech shard.
Still on that Wukong grind. On NG+, but I only play a couple hours a week so it’ll prolly take me a while to get through it again. Wifey has been sucked into Dave The Diver the last few days, it looks fun and the music is peaceful enough that I don’t have her put on her headphones when I go to bed because it makes for a good lullaby.
Played smash ultimate again for the first time in a while. Game sucks but i can articulate why better now.
Playing granblue regularly because of peer pressure. Game still sucks.
Playing strive. Might have to change my controller layout again. I can't easily do dash frc sequences in the current layout but got it on like the 3rd try with the new one. So now i just need to play games with the new layout until i get used to it.
Sf6 i still feel like im dont understand what im supposed to be doing at most phases. Without having both whiff punishes and hit confirms on lock i just feel like most hits are either really expensive to convert from meaningfully or just dont convert into anything good at all. Its skill issue but it feels bad in the moment.
Football Manager 2024, got it on EGS sale and instead of my usual Newcastle run, I am trying to replicate St.Pauli's Bundesliga 2 title.
That club is notorious within Hamburg for having leftist ultras instead of fash.
Finally beat the 5th island in Kingdom: New Lands and now I can focus Baldur's Gate 3. Still, gaming takes a backseat so I can get this folk song recorded for a compilation album.
I finished Chrono Trigger recently, fuckin’ awesome game. I haven’t really been able to articulate my thoughts on it yet but I can definitely understand why it’s got its reputation. Now I’m finally playing Disco Elysium, I’m only a few hours in but I’m loving it so far. I also started Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but I’m kinda garbage at platformers and these sorts of old action games and this one seems pretty hard, so uhh I guess we’ll see if I can keep up with it.
