The Minister for Health is expected to get Government approval to draft these laws which will ban the sale, manufacture or import of single-use or disposable vapes in Ireland.
Stephen Donnelly plans to introduce this ban on environmental and public health grounds.
Should be banned everywhere smh. It's crazy that people are just chucking lithium into the garbage for no reason...when vapes started as an easily reusable setup in the firth place.
I remember in the beginning using flashlight batteries, rebuildable atomizers and local house made juices. Im off the nicotine totally now but the scenes changed so much since then, not in the greatest of ways either.
Agreed. I think a huge part of it is down to how many kids are vaping here too. Saw an interview with the Taoiseach (prime minister) and he said 13% of 12-17 year olds had vaped in the last 30 days. Pretty crazy number.
Gov'ts in my area keep ranting about how many kids are vaping, forgetting that they set it up that way by banning RTAs/RDAs and only selling disposables.
How dumb must you be to do that, and throw your hands in the air while yelling "We don't understand why!"
Part of why I'm collecting up whatever ones I find to use for my small electronics projects... Even saw someone recently use about 50 or so to make a nice battery bank (was posted here to Lemmy)
I've been using them as the overnight batteries for solar powered projects (like wled controlled lights). I'll be happy to get batteries elsewhere instead and reduce the massive waste.
