I always carry a white towel in the car door storage and slap that onto the wheel when I have to park on a sunny spot. It helps a bit to make it bearable.
I have a "truck rag" (read: T-shirt with my work's logo that I wouldn't dare wear in public) it's main purpose is draping over the steering wheel in summer. Works wonders in the high desert.
Lol I live in Phoenix. I interact with the molten hot steering wheel with rapid slaps. The leidendrost effect is the only way to keep the wheel from gliding through your hand like a light saber.
I just got one of the window shades for my windscreen at the outlet store/flea market. $5 and works ok. Doesn't keep the interior from being hot, but it does keep everything safe from direct sunlight and all that melty burny ouchy shit.
Tips: Depending on local laws, 3M UV blocking film, not tinted. It deflects most of the UV radiation (this is better than those reflecting window blockers you see in parked cars, those actually heat up the interior as the air gap makes the air circulate between the glass and the foil).
White fluffy towel like surface on the dash. This stops the light bouncing into the windshield and then into the car.
White steering cover. And break the kitty and pay for a white wrap for the car. In the coming cars, any other color option will not make sense anyways.
Isn't that a game?where you try to get someone to look at your ok hand gesture? And then you lose the game..... also I just now lost the game too in addition to that hand sign game... :(
