A company has installed vending machines that sell ammunition in grocery stores in Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas, raising concerns among gun control advocates.
It uses “AI facial recognition software” to verify your identity and age lol. Mind you this is in a red state where guns are more sacred than Jesus and you can get anything you want without any of these rules online or at a local gun shop. Conservatives will likely knee jerk support this even though its purpose is to siphon your biometrics, track who’s buying ammo, and price gouge you. I don’t know if they sell brand name ammo or Bubba’s reloads that will explode in your face for 90 cents a round
what is the purpose of this? when is this preferable to just going to any outdoors store or gun store and getting ammo? when do you conveniently need a box of ammo? i'm a gun owner and i genuinely don't understand the reasoning here.
I know bullets aren't extremely dangerous if they catch on fire, but somehow I think having a machine crammed with 50,000 bits of metal stuffed with gunpowder isn't going to be safer in case of a fire than not having said machine.
lol i am pretty sure whoever engineered this must've taken that into account but i hope not and we get to see a "machine vending shot customer" story soon.
