Looks like you can't opt out of redesign by default anymore?
Had to check some health related subreddits today and my account seems to be automatically redirecting to new reddit. To see old style reddit I've got to manually put in old.reddit.com as the url. Looks like the account settings under old reddit were edited and changed to preferences, and there is no longer a toggle to "opt out of redesign". Just a field you can check to automatically redirect to new reddit, which is unchecked on my account but it's still redirecting to it
Oh, they'll leave it untouched alright. It will stay untouched until some convenient back end change breaks it, and it will remain untouched forever more. No patches, no fixes.
Though while it's trivial to criticize Huffsglueman for a lot of things, we need to also keep it real: You can just make someone a moderator of a sub. They get notified, sure, but they're already listed in the sidebar. They don't have to actively do anything to get there.
Right now old Reddit + Reddit Enhancement Suite is the best way of moderating subreddits
I think the only reason Reddit still keeps it around is that it lets them delay building equivalent moderation tools into new Reddit and the official app
