Creative coding is your friend. Look for p5.js . Instead to get the output in a cmdline console of your hello world, you will see it in picture you render. It is more exciting.
Once you understand basic principles, switch to a game engine.
I know a few languages to do stuff by hand; I've just been super curious about that flow chart method of providing logic that UE5 has. I originally started with things like Klik'n'Play and always thought the "code a thing without writing any code" was neat.
I just keep putting it off. Like how I also keep putting off learning how to play the guitar I spend $500 on. 😩
Not every project’s goal is to make money. I’d argue that spending time learning now to remake a game that you personally love is not a waste of time. You get the thing you wanted (a remaster) and you’ve honed a skill.
