- Huge number of people waiting to vote at Cuyahoga County Board of Elections
Took my mom to vote early this morning and there was a rather massive line of people waiting to vote. It went pretty fast though all things considered. Took about an hour from start to finish. Wish I'd gottten a photo or two.
- Cleveland, we need to talk....
So, I'm on the bus, and it smells fine. Lady sits down next to me, she smells like cat piss.
I move to a different seat, and notice this guy smells like he barfed all over himself.
I move again, and this guy smells like he's been smoking for 40 years, and worn the same shirt the whole time.
Get off that bus, and head to the rapid. I sit down, and the next guy to sit down in front of me smells like he doesn't know what a shower is.
Cleveland! Do you understand that before you leave your house, you're supposed to brush your teeth, wash your hair, take a shower, wear clean clothes, and generally clean yourself regularly? My routine is once when I wake up, before I leave for work. Then again when I come home from work.
Smoking is disgusting, and you're disgusting for doing it.
And fucking hell, why does every bus stop smell like urine??? You guys realize these aren't bathrooms, right?
- PawPaw Fruit?
Hey everyone,
Any idea if/where I could get some paw paw fruit in the area? I know the festival is going on in Albany this weekend, but I'm on the fence about driving 7 hours round trip for fruit.
Thanks.

- How to help homeless in the suburbs?
I live in an east side suburb and recently noticed at least one person with a bunch of bags/sacks sleeping at an RTA bus stop on multiple occasions. I've lived here since 2016 and this is the first time I've seen homeless in this part of town. Just today I saw on facebook some person complaining about the homeless at bus stops around here, and I was wondering what I could do to help them.
Obviously, I can buy them food or give them some money, but I'm more worried about their lack of shelter and exposure to snobby suburbanites who don't want to see them around as well as shitty suburban cops.
Does anyone know of resources I could give them to find shelter nearby?

- Cuyahoga County Judges Vowed to Reform the Bail System. Here’s What Happened. – The Landthelandcle.org Cuyahoga County Judges Vowed to Reform the Bail System. Here’s What Happened. – The Land
Court officials informally changed their bail-setting practices for felony cases. Now, fewer people have to pay to get out of jail, a Marshall Project analysis shows.
> In recent years, the Cuyahoga County court system has drastically cut its use of cash bail. That means fewer people sit in jail while awaiting trial.
> The shift followed calls to dismantle a bail process that created a two-tier system: one for those who could pay for their freedom and one for those who could not. Local and national reports showed those who could not were most often poor or Black.
> The Marshall Project reviewed the bail decisions Cuyahoga County judges made in nearly 70,000 felony cases filed between 2016 and 2022 to understand how their bail practices had changed. Overall, judges are now setting cash bail in felony cases far less frequently and are more often setting personal bonds — which don’t require payment for release.
Check the link for the whole story. There's been positive changes, but nothing institutional to ensure they keep going.
