Unforgivable
  • I am not a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at all.

But it got me thinking, in this case it's grape. Does anyone actually eat grapes with peanut butter? Like smear peanut butter on a grape?

I don't think that sounds good, so by extension this whole thing looks awful.

  • Americans are choking on surging fast-food prices. "I can't justify the expense," one customer says
  • If you have been eating fast food for anything other than a treat, something is wrong anyways.

It's never really been cheap, and it certainly has never been good for you.

Weird that everyone is suddenly talking about it now.

And 5 guys? Lol it's always been way over priced.

  • I‘m running out of titles
  • I am not a fan of emojis in online conversation, but this time it does change how I perceived what you wrote. You are not happy about this? I would be so pleased if my country got rid of the penny.

  • m3u (iptv) server which is not Jellyfin?
  • Pyrosis did a great job answering a lot of your questions, I will focus again on why I cannot recommend plex:

Opt-In is not acceptable. You need to opt-out of: data sharing, data sharing with partners (unless you are in the UK or specific States), sharing playback data, stopping discovery together and activity feed, and turning off all of their live tv and streaming services.

Sharing streaming habits with others is not something that ever should have been opt-out. They keep pushing the line.

By the way, several of the "features" you mention are not included by default. Hardware decoding, downloads, DVR, etc.

  • m3u (iptv) server which is not Jellyfin?
  • I run both concurrently. I have a plex pass from way back when, maybe a decade or more.

What plex is now is not what it once was. Trying to socialize viewing habits, opting in by default to analysis, ads, reviews, and sharing that info has gone too far. Plex also works on these features such as discovery which benefits them, instead of open bugs.

That us why I can't recommend it.

As for a feature comparison. Jellyfin is snappier, and faster. Plex is more detailed in their interface, and has better Metadata. Jellyfin sometimes doesn't restart where I left off. Jellyfin is much, much better on mobile devices, but has less clients for tv's. Jellyfin doesn't rely on any server but my own, where plex wants to authenticate with thier own servers and ask for accounts (and money) to have full functionality. Jellyfin always downloads to a client. Plex...might. Plex has better handling of multiple streams in one file.

    "BeReal." FOSS alternative? Yes please!
  • This is bizarre. My friends wouldn't want random interruptions throughout the day and neither do I.

Follow? I don't follow anyone, that seems so shallow ..

Edit: but to be fair, we all like different things. Foss is about scratching you own itch, so if you feel you want an app like this (seems easy enough to do) you can always make it yourself.

  • Biden left without an easy solution as campus protests heat up
  • Four colleges simply met with their protestors, came to an agreement to not invest in companies supporting the war, and publicly call for peaceful resolution.

Why is it so damn hard for all the other ones?

  • Boeing: Dead whistleblower warned of safety breaches
  • That is something you can do, especially if you have as much money as these people do

But then there is a trail of money, and people to keep quiet. Most wealthy people can afford NOT to go around killing people. Because what is going to happen to them if they don't? NOTHING.

  • Boeing: Dead whistleblower warned of safety breaches
  • So now it might be a shareholder? I am beginning to think it is just as likely that the Union did it, as opposed to the CEO or Board. Maintain power, keep benefits for the employees, keep the eyes off of just how bad the drug problems had been on the lines.

Think about it, Barnetts death doesnt even benefit Boeing. It only causes more controversy, and everything he was going to testify about gets even more scrutiny. Public opinion is even worse. Boeing is going to be found negligent, they are going to pay fines, and those things really will have no major effect on the company or the people with money.

  • Boeing: Dead whistleblower warned of safety breaches
  • The motive is either “silencing him so he can’t reveal more”, “intimidating other potential whistleblowers”, or a combination of both.

These are not motives. If you read what I wrote, you get to the true motive. These are actions, they do things, but who cares if they reveal more? Who cares if more people are whistle blowers? That is where you will find motive. Which I talked about, and which demonstrates that the consequences of this action serve no purpose. It is always about money.

It is disappointing you cannot seem to have a discussion without personal attacks, like calling me stupid. But to take it right back to you: do you always believe in conspiracy?

Edit: Hell I would be more likely to believe that the Union did it, because they have used lax rules at the plant to smuggle drugs or some other illicit substance. Which is what I am trying to get at: WHO is responsible, and WHY. Boeing the company is going to be investigated by the FAA either way, so is there some dirty secret that we dont know about? After all a Union chief (and 23 others) pleaded guilty in 2012 to drug trafficking.... https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/breaking/20120816_Ex-union_chief_caught_in_Boeing_drug_sting_gets_6_months.html

If they were wealthy people (CEO, Board of Directors) like I said before, none of this would be worth murder. They make money either way.

  • Were tobacco pipes not in the training material?

I tried several models, several prompts, and the results have been surprisingly bizarre. I also was surprised there is no JR Bob Dobbs recognition. All I wanted was a classic 1950's TV salesman.

Quit asking me to rate movies

I know how to turn off the notifications, but Plex should not nag me to rate things I have watched.

I know AWS E3 is beta, but has anyone had any long term success with it?

I have configured buckets and synced three joplin instances. One time it lasted a month. Another lasted a day. The most common error is *Got Metadata for Path but could not fetch content. * Anyone have any tips or tricks to getting this to work? I sure like concept, the best place to sync for me. And yes I can see the markdown file in the bucket so.....

I have been using the Steamdeck as a workstation for the past month while out of town.

I was out of country for the past month. I have access to two monitors, and I brought a keyboard, wireless mouse, and a small JBL speaker. It has been a pretty good experience. I have edited documents, images, and created PDF's. I can connect to jobs that require windows with a web browser to Azure Virtual Desktop. I have streamed live events, worked on my home servers, and it is always snappier than a windows machine. With a click I am back in handheld gaming mode playing SNES games, or Elden Ring.
