What are you playing this weekend?
  • Well it's been 8 or 9 years since I played the first so whatever difference that may make...

When it first came out people complained about it a lot. But I'd heard a lot of fixes have gone in, and I'm just now picking it up.

I like it. I feel like there's more random combat walking around which I hated at first but I'm getting the hang on dodging and blocking so I'm enjoying it now. There seems to be more random side quests.

The story seems more fleshed out, presumably because it's also been 20 years in game since the first.

Overall I feel like the game is more of the same once I got the hang of the combat part. I don't remember a lot of the intricacies of managing my inventory and crafting from the first game, so I don't know if it feels more complicated, or I've just forgotten how it was.

What I don't like, the story being more fleshed out actually. It felt more like a "cowboy" type of thing before, where everyone including NPCs was doing their own thing, including you. I liked the less structured feel of the environment and people if that makes sense.

I do also miss that the style of the game was new to me. Overall the first person parkour, running, combat, etc was something I’d never played.

  • New community - Men’s mental health

I saw a lot of chatter in a mental health thread about wanting an area for men’s mental health. Having had my own issues I thought I’d create a space and hope for the best on its growth. I’m not much for words so here it is

    https://lemmy.world/c/mensmentalhealth@lemmy.world

    !mensmentalhealth@lemmy.world

    Thanks in advance!

New forum, all constructive comments welcome

Welcome to !mensmentalhealth. I’m very new to managing an online community so bear with me. I saw a need and having dealt with my own issues, as well as many saying they wished such an area existed in Lemmy, I thought I’d get this going.

Check out the sidebar for the rules. For now they’re ripped mostly from other areas I’ve seen online. I’m happy to keep things going but may enlist / ask for help should that need arise. I’m also acutely aware of the sensitive nature of these sorts of discussions. So while “don’t be a dick” is rule #5 it’s most certainly at the forefront of my mind.

As the title states, all constructive comments are welcome. Have at it and I hope this helps out anyone who may need it.

Disclaimer: I’m nowhere near a mental health professional, just a random guy on the internet. My expertise is very techy so I won’t even pretend to give any medical advice. At best you’ll get tidbits on personal experience. I hope that folks with real & useful things to say will poke their heads in here to speak from time to time.

    Giving this a shot

I’m on vacation so I don’t have time to devote to a proper sidebar, icons, etc until next week. So for now talk about men’s mental health issues, and don’t be a dick. That’s all.
