Doctor Who fans react hilariously to ‘underwhelming’ reveal in ‘disappointing’ finale
  • And yet it was by far the episode I enjoyed the most since Church on Ruby Road. The script has some glaring issues for sure, some of which might be fixed in the next season (I don’t believe in that too much though), but at least it mostly felt like I was watching Doctor Who for once.

I think the running around, good music and pacing, some interesting character moments and great visual effects did it for me. Sutekh’s design and vibe are fantastic and I thought the scene where Ruby meets her mom itself worked really well.

If the rest of the season was more like this episode, I would have enjoyed it a whole lot more.

  • Why don’t you like Apple?
  • Their latest announcements are interesting because they say some of their privacy claims will be verifiable by independent firms (mainly when it comes to their custom built AI servers iirc). Is this actually worth something or is it just marketing fluff?

  • New old toy (iPod 5th gen)
  • I feel like the spinning hard drive is part of the charm though! But I’d be keen to do some of the other mods like USB C, Taptic Engine, bigger battery or custom OS, this is all so cool

  • Apple Reportedly Stops Production of FineWoven Accessories
  • This is what I had read about the iPhone 13 one too and I was ready to jump on the hate train, but I’m pretty pleased with mine (got it for free when I bought my phone). I’ve been using it for around six months and it’s looking the exact same as it did at the beginning

  • Apple keeps flogging 8GB of RAM for its Mac computers but it's still a dead horse
  • To be fair I had an 8Gb M1 Mac mini for about a year and never even once felt like it was lacking memory. I could open as many things as I wanted and it didn’t slow down, so I can kinda see where they were going with this. Not saying it makes that situation much better though.

I think the current base iPhones with 4Gb or 6Gb suffer way more from lack of memory than the 8Gb Macs, and people aren’t taking about this enough.

USB hub not working with USB C cables

Hi! I have a USB hub I've been using for a few months. I have an M1 MacBook and it was plugged to it through a USB A to A cable and a USB A to C adapter, which worked perfectly.

I've been wanting to get rid of the adapter so I got a nice USB A to C cable instead (which can transfer data). The cable works perfectly with all the devices I've tried it with (hard drives, phones...) but won't work with the hub, and I have no idea why. I tried a bunch of other USB A to C cables and they won't work either. It only works when there's a USB A to A cable involved.

Here's a before and after of the setup if it helps: https://imgur.com/a/xUYt1Td

Tried to contact the hub's support but they won't reply. Any idea what could be going on?
