One could easily argue that the prohibition of drugs has been an object failure as well, there's just been $$$$ in keeping it illegal (along with racist reasons). Thankfully some states are seeing the $$$ of regulation, but the party of small overreaching government doesn't like that and fights it tooth and nail in a lot of places. Wonder why?
