  • The tragedy is not only that you refuse to see the genocide, but that you have justified killing civilians. So even if the offence is less than genocide in your eyes, you still think it's okay that these "people" were killed. Usually it's because you cannot view them as full humans like yourself. This divide allows you to suppress the feelings of guilt which helps you repeat and endorse Israeli hasbara. Worse than that even, you say you do it to protect democracy. If you cared about democracy you would probably better spend your time trying to critique the flaws in Israeli democracy, which is only seen as a democracy thanks to some heavy window dressing...

  • I don't see how. Democracy states that people have power to rule usually through voting. If not all the people have this power equally, is it really a democracy? It can look like one but not necessarily be one.

  • I did not bring good/bad into this. By definition, can you really be a democracy if you are an apartheid regime where two thirds of your "residents" have low to no rights in gotingnor determining their future? Seriously asking.

Again, I'm not talking about Palestinians who are Israeli citizens so hope that makes it clearer.

  • How is this funny? What does it even mean?

  • Learning to read docs is basically learning how to learn. If good docs exist and you have the skill of reading them, your life will get significantly easier.

  • My bubble is mostly lm, which comes in two flavors:

    (1) useless repo made up entirely of jupyter notebooks and 28363 requirements achieved via pip freeze

    (2) simple, friendly, well documented, runs

  • I always felt like most users don't use Linux not because of any of the things you mentioned, nut because their first computer was a windows or mac.

  • Great chart! Is it from some report or article? Would be curious to read it.

Especially given the fact how undemocratic Israel is when it comes to Palestinians (no voting rights, no adequate political representation, no proper legal reresentation, making decisions in Israel that directly affect the West Bank which it essentially also rules, etc, and maybe some form of dignity if you are a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship but that is about it). Essentially it's quite bold to claim to be a democracy while practicing apartheid on the side, and I have a feeling that that chart does not take this into account at all.

  • Can you prove it's the only democracy in the middle east? Because a lot of your points stand on this straw.

  • Everyone was shit to him in tng because they are all jealous assholes who can never be as smart or as competent as him. It was made because people who like tv somehow like some casual ageism and bullying. Take it out on the kid. Get a few hahas.

This is one of the least funny memes I have ever seen in my life.

    Edit: boo fucking hoo.

  • Okay, sure, we are in agreement then.

  • So if the current system is corrupt, what are the chances for a vigilante system? Somehow less corrupt? And based on what, the goodness of those who are willing to be vigilantes? Sounds like Police v2 minus any shred of accountability or system to handle abuse cases.

  • I DDG'd "Harris memes" hoping to find a harissa (yes, the hot chili paste) themed one. Instead I mostly found memes that looked like Republicans attempting to be funny and failing miserably. The memes had no punch line, made no sense, and were mostly based on pure disgust and hate for her as a person with no real criticism of her political actions.

I don't like Harris and would probably just leave the US if I was born there and take my vote elsewhere to a system that maybe remotely makes sense. But those memes were sad. If anything they tell of a human condition that has affected some diehard Republicans online. I think some of them need help.

  • As someone who lives in Europe, I already pay this much on income taxes. Is this considered high?

    Edit: actually like 30-33%

  • I wonder if she was coerced to do so under false pretenses. But I also saw others in the comments point out that it looked more like a premediated murder than a self defense one since she apparently went to his house to kill him, so she was not held against her will at the point of the murder.

  • Downvoted just f the ACAB. Who said it's obligatory? Why? That one phrase that reeks of generalization, civilized society has adopted it now? If this is not what it's supposed to mean, I am open to explanations.

  • The dowvotes on this one worry me.

Yeah the police don't work so your solution is to go be even worse police? At this point, no justice at all might be better rofl.

  • "Four months before Volar died, police arrested him on charges of sexual assault but released him the same day."

Yeah maybe we are not told about how corrupt police is.

  • I am Palestinian and I just got banned from world news ml for saying that some Israeli hostages experienced rape/sexual assault/abuse without "credible evidence". Somehow the mod equated this with me not giving a fuck about Palestinian prisoners of war.

No my man... I was raped myself as a teen. So to me, all rapes are equal no matter who does it to whom.
