I use it on a Homepod Mini to toggle different lights and a fan. In my previous apartment I used it to control a window AC. Sometimes I tell it to pause my AppleTV if I can't find the remote quick enough. I use it with FindMy when I lose my keys or bag or whatever else (I have a lot of AirTags). Other than controlling devices I mostly use it for weather reports and timers.
From my experience, touch typing and using all fingers (home row technique I think it's called) is less common among boomers, especially men. Even in professional settings I've seen men peck at their keyboards with just their pointer fingers. The slowness of this technique might explain the use of abbreviations at the desktop?
fun fact: the length to width ratio of ISO 216, ā2:1, is the same ratio as the tritone in an equal tempered 12-tone musical scale. If you fold A4 paper in half, you get a piece of paper with the same length to width ratio as before; analogously, if you invert a tritone, you get another tritone.
My partner has been using a Samsung Fold for two years, the one that folds open into a small tablet. It looked nice at first but it hasnāt held up well. Thereās this film on the screen that youāre not supposed to remove and itās deteriorating fast. There are these little patches on the screen that look sort of like bubbles. Plus even from the start you could see the crease in the middle of the screen.
My mom was permabanned from Facebook in 2020 for constantly posting anti-vax nonsense so she just went to places like Gab and Parlor. š
I use the TouchID on my MacBook several times a day because it unlocks the password manager and wallet.
My shorts feed mostly consists of videos about the signs of depression and mechanical keyboards.
Also, macOS has some built in PDF editing tools in Preview. You can add text, signatures, draw lines and shapes, highlight, add notes, and split or combine PDFs.

On Mac and iPad it's option-shift-hyphen.
Also there's the en-dash (option-hypen on Mac/iPad), which is slightly shorter: ā
The en-dash is meant for ranges of numbers, e.g., 1990ā2023, although some use it like an em-dash.
What about three, four, or more independent clauses? Is that allowed?
Sometimes Iāve felt like an object I was imagining suddenly for a split second was somehow tangible inside my head. Like it has weight that I can feel, but it only lasts for a very short moment. Itās hard to put into words.
Off topic but did anyone else think she was wearing a Star Trek TOS uniform at first glance?
Apple Podcasts app on any platform. If you subscribe to like more than few dozen podcasts it runs at a snailās pace even on the latest M1 and M2 devices from my experience. I turned off automatic downloads and it still ran slow. I donāt know why because a podcast app should be little different than an rss reader in theory, no?
Anyway I switched to Overcast last year and havenāt looked back.
