You have 15$. How would you spend it so that you'll be the happiest you can be for 15$ ?
  • Whoa, that sounds exhausting haha! Do they need like, moisturizer to help them shed? :o

Revy is a Ball Python, her morphs are Black Pastel, Lesser and GHI (maybe also Confusion and maybe het Clown, the breeder wasn't sure). Surprisingly, the cool stripe isn't from something like the Genetic Stripe morph, just a weird effect from the combination of her 3 morphs. Her mom (also BP, Lesser and GHI) actually looks super similar, but has random breaks in the stripe, so Revy just got lucky I guess!

  • Superb nakey wrinkly man!!! That Beardie morph was called something like Silkback or Leatherback right? Do they still slightly change their color like normal Beardies? :o

I'd go with the same gist of answer! I'd get some fun snack for my girl Revy, maybe Quail or African Soft Fur, and the rest of the budget would go to random fun enrichment items :)

  • AI can take one writer's job, as a treat
  • I'm not a writer, and I only read Fantasy at the time so I've never encountered a Jewish Chinese character. What would be the right answer to this?

I mean realistically, it could be any combination of first and last names, depending on whatever the deal with the person's parents' heritage is (or whether they would even name their kid in a way that displays that).

But in fiction, you'd probably want a name that is memorable and quickly associates with the characters most important roles/traits. And thinking that a characters most important characteristic would be their race is kinda yikes

  • Feng Rule
  • Feng Shui is unironically the best conversation starter when someone invites you over for the first time though. Tell them how fucked their money corner looks as an ice breaker

  • We need more whimsy
  • The answer at the time was False Water Cobra btw. Nowadays the Diamond Carpet Python fills that spot and the FWC has moved down to 5th or 6th. Gotta grow up sometime I guess 😤

  • It's been around a year since a lot of us quit Reddit, myself included. I'm happy with Lemmy, but I still feel a bit lost online since leaving the old site. Discussion?
  • I've been preferring it actually! There's a sense of calm I get from scrolling through my frontpage and being out of posts at some point, usually like 20mins. I used to spend hours and hours on Reddit, just because it was so easy to keep scrolling infinitely.

At first I thought I should subscribe to more communities to have more content but it's actually kinda nice to be limited.

I also found a great female weightlifting guide over on hexbear, so I've been building muscle since November. Someone must really care to post guides here, so my confidence in it has been a lot better from the start.

And I recently took the plunge and opened a community for posts about Royal Pythons. I'm still the only poster, but it will catch on eventually, and I'll cultivate it to be better than r/ballpythons from the start. Some of the posts on that subreddit are simply scary haha

  • I have been banned from Reddit now it's brought me here.
  • and well the rule I broke was basically depicting child abuse/neglect.

yikes, you know how that sounds. Reddit mods can be power hungry assholes, but that doesn't make it okay to break rules that are designed to make people feel comfortable in a community.

Either way, hope you take this as an opportunity for introspection. Welcome to Lemmy, do your best!

  • Reddit’s Goon Cave Community Has Been Banned
  • noooo, that used to be my favorite subreddit to scroll with my husband and go "What the hell is wrong with these people!"

They had this great elitism about how a proper Goon setup needs as many monitors as possible, which is such an arbitrary thing to get hung up on when your hobby is watching porn all day. It was fascinating to watch!

What sort of rat is this?
  • After some more research, I think that might be it ^^ It does look a lot like rat fuzzys do, although I've never seen one this big. Actually I've never seen one at all, because I only got my snake at a size where the 20-30g rats I got were all in the "weaned" age group.. and now I'm on the 30-50g bag and they're larger but younger somehow?

Guess these rats were just born really big for some reason lol. Kind of a shame, that coat is really cool, kinda reminds me of Shar-Pei dogs

  • Ruleeee
  • The first time I saw a Drag Queen was while hanging out in a gay bar in Amsterdam (obviously stoned).

She was so tall and all I remember was looking up and this complete feeling of reverence, like walking into a church and looking up at very beautifully crafted artwork on the high ceilings. Absolutely amazing.

  • Wannabe Green Tree Python

    smh my head 😤

She's surprisingly good at climbing tho !

(actually just a Python Regius if you can't tell lol)

How do I find communities on Lemmy?

Maybe it's an instance thing, maybe it's a Boost thing, but when I search for communities with the simple term "fitness" for example, I only get 5 results that have like, 30 members max.

I'm totally down with organically growing my community list over time just based on links and recommendations, but it is a bit annoying to not find communities when I'm pretty sure that they should exist.

Does anyone have tips on how to find things better?

    Audiobook sites!

I really like Audiobookbay for discovering new books, but if I'm searching for something specific it is a bit annoying to navigate with their sometimes broken search and the vague categorization. Seeding is also sometimes sparse, especially with older uploads..

Does anyone know good alternatives? There doesn't seem to be an audiobook category in the megathread (yet) ;)
