Bootloader equivalent to Rufus
  • My honest recommendation is dd It works, it does it's job, and doesn't need to many bells and whistles. My only complaint is that there isn't an easy way to show progress. But as a background command, it works.

  • Is there any significance to people using emojis that match their skin tone?
  • I don't use emoji very much. The most I use is when I'm working and sometime asks me to take on a task in Slack. There is a thumbs up all emoji that is just the skin tone shifting to all the colors. I like it because then I don't have to give a fuck about it.

  • My wife is in her mid 40s and hasnt figured it out yet. Constantly pissed at the company she works for screwing over people in her position with more and more responsibility for no pay increase. An opportunity came up and it was going to be rather inexpensive to open a competing business three miles down the road and it would have screwed over the company she works for, and she won't even let me look into it. She will never get by at her current job.

    Need Some Play Testers

I've been writing a game based around super humans, and I need some people to help out with play testing my character creation. Here is a link to all the files in a Google Drive. Please read the README file and get the feedback form when you are done. Thank you all

To be honest, it is quite complicated now as well with all of the proprietary software
  • There once was a time when configs were not in a universal place like .config. I have terrible memories of trying to fix a gnome setting gone wrong and having to search several files in four different places and just having to firebomb everything.

  • What destinations are experiencing "undertourism"?
  • I live in an area that was built on tourism in the 1920s. Prohibition turned it into a rum runners haven as the customers were always coming and the proximity to Canada made it a prime location. Now, the infrastructure is all gone and the only thing left is it's past is the local high school mascot. Mt. Clemens Michigan used to be something amazing.

  • He revealed the secrets !
  • I used to joke with my niece that my programming job was just me staring at screens and meetings all day. She didn't believe me until she got to shadow me one day and got super bored.

  • I never finished, and I'm not going back.
  • I discovered that all the videos were in the disk unprotected, so I would watch them all for clues and just finished most of the game that way. I also discovered that the end pages could be accessed without doing anything else and worked. I got Riven, got stuck, went to the disk files and laughed since they put all the files in some strange archive I wasn't familiar with at the time. No cheating for young men. I wonder about now, though.

  • New [Kansas] bill would censor all LGBTQ+ websites for as “harmful” to minors
  • So is it sites that are specifically lgbtq+, or any site that has content as such? If the later, that's nearly a third of the internet.

Edit: actually read the article. It's any site where the content is considered harmful to minors, including homosexual content. So how much of NetFlix, YouTube, Facebook, etc get banned under this?

  • A poor craftsman
  • Here in USA, it was all on ABC and called the Disney Afternoon. Super successful with DuckTails and Tailspin, then bringing Alladin and Good Troop. There were a few other movies that got the animated TV show treatment, but the success of the Disney Afternoon started wearing thin and the shows were cancelled when people realized that they were not good anymore. Not like DuckTails, Darkwing, and Alladin.

  • E-Commerce, shopping cart question

I'm building out an e-commerce frontend for the ERP my company uses, and I am being slightly lazy while working on the shopping cart to start. I've noticed in many other stores guest carts, or not having to be logged in to purchase. How necessary is it to have guest shopping?

    MiG-23 day before it crashed.

I volunteer for Yankee Air Museum in Michigan. We had the only flying MiG-23 in American airspace perform at our airshow, but engine troubles caused a crash. Nobody hurt, and that was a major miracle. A very populated region, and a busy highway meant the chance of injury was super high. But the plane came down in an abandoned golf course and stopped next to an apartment building.

    Play testing Feedback

Going to start play testing some parts of my game, and I am going to need to gather feedback. Anybody for a good feedback system I can look at? Documents offer forms? Thanks.
