I'm not so sure that person is simply a "deafeatist American". Their insistence, insults, and number of posts they're putting up to discourage us from protesting tells me it's someone with an agenda, not on our side.
And how does not protesting help us "naive children" "gain ground"? You're concern trolling to try and discourage us from standing up for ourselves. Go away if you have nothing to contribute to defending democracy.
Is this how quickly people forget? Never again buy a Tesla, or Tesla stock, and never stop letting those who do know what you think of them for doing that.
It's no where near what his just deserts would be, but it's a start. At least it's one area where the people have a little bit of power over him. Owning a Tesla (I've always hated that he stole the inventor's name for his company) should be made anathema, unacceptable, unthinkable. We should keep up the pressure in every possible way.
It's still very important to take a stand and speak out. Even if that in itself is not enough, it's still necessary. Putting out this statement doesn't mean that's the only thing they're doing. When fighting for a cause you have to state your principles, call out the problems you see, and motivate others to join you in the cause.
âThe nationâs scientific enterprise is being annihilated and the silence of too many of our scientific leaders is only making the ongoing catastrophe worse,â said Dr Robert Steinbrook, health research group director at Public Citizen, a consumer advocacy group.
âThe âSOSâ signal from 1,900 scientists must be a wake-up call for our leading scientific and medical organizations to show courage and speak out at this critical moment,â he said. âIf scientists and scientific and medical organizations will not forcefully speak out in defense of science and public health, who will? There is no alternative.â
Responses in this thread dismissing people for speaking out is worse than doing nothing. If you aren't going to do something, at least don't disparage others for doing what they can.
Thank you for getting it, both on the age group voting stats and that the leopards+faces meme/community is about trump doing things that hurt his voters specifically, not things that harm our most vulnerable people throughout the whole country regardless of their politics.
Obviously in Oklahoma, trump won among both men and women. The point is you could substitute the name of any other state, red or blue, into this headline and it would still be true.
Exactly. Gloating about the demise of a major safety net of the United States does not belong in the Leopards eating faces community because it affects everyone in the country and especially the elderly and disabled, not just trump voters. People in every state are upset about it, not just people in Oklahoma/red states.
edit: I'm actually glad to see the downvotes on this comment because I'm sick of people using "boomer" as an insult (which is why I replied with this as a retort to the poster who did that). Thanks for those recognizing we're in a class war, not a culture war and downvoting it!
Yep, I'm seeing more and more blaming all Americans no matter that almost as many voted for Harris as for trump and no matter how hard so many worked to defeat him. So no surprise they're fine with innocent people losing their social security.
I wouldn't gloat over this one, because a huge number of people who didn't vote for it will also face the same consequences and many of them will suffer and/or die because they depend on social security for their main or sole income.
