I had been struggling for a while to get CUDA on my main NixOS box for some ML programming. It seems there weren't any clear solutions in the NixOS forums, which just suggested suffering through painful build times. Here's my hacky, less Nix-y approach that takes ~5 minutes.

Great! I tend to avoid DRM'd games by buying from GOG. Don't use their launcher, lutris tends to have auto install scripts for games.
Not related to containers but I've had quite a lot of success using NixOS as the host OS. Setting up services like jellyfin is as simple as adding services.jellyfin.enable = true;
to the config file.
