I am arch user by now. Tried nix package manager on it and learning nix thee days. I was thinking of switching to nix as I was not able to replicate that much Declarativeness on my setup. But barrier is almost Everything Nix is on Github,Something which somehow belong to Microsoft and is not good for privacy.

So can Nix community host a Gitlab or forgejo or Something else as an alternative or maybe permanently move it (so that I can switch to nix)?

Is there any OCR service or app for scanning pages, getting text with all the maths. I am a school student and this is very handy for looking for solutions. Previously I was using google lens but not anymore obviously. So anything FOSS or just less Privacy invasive.

Is there some way I can unlock my btrfs encrypted disk using a graphical unlocking screen.

Basically I was setting up an On-screen keyboard so that I can use my PC in case I do not have a keyboard available. Only problem in setup is that I can't find anyway to use on-screen keyboard on that screen on which we enter password to decrypt disk.

When I start Firefox (Or Librewolf) they start lagging a lot in start but with time they start responding smoothly (in like 3to5 minutes).What could be problem? How to fix that?

I recently created a new Github Account but probably there is some issue with my account. Whenever I am creating a issue on any repo either by web or cli. It shows that issue is created and actually it is shown as created in my recent activity tab if I am loggined. But If I pull up a incognito tab and Enter issues URL there it shows page not found. What is actual issue (do I need any verification?) And how to solve it?

I know it is something I need to find in docs but probably I am dumb enough to not get it.

Basically I want to file issues in OTHERS repo (Not mine) using Github cli tool GH .So is it possible?, How to do it? HELP PLEASE!!

I want this kind of app as I need to keep WhatsApp,UPI and few other apps.

I found some apps like blackbox,Sandvxposed,virtualxposed,etc. But almost all of them are dead by now.

I can't use shelter or insular as I have a Android Go and it do not have work profile. I just need a virtual space xposed,fakeroot,fakelocatian,etc can be some extra goodies.

Actually I am switching to Wayland and Most of apps I use support GTK Theming (Librewolf,Thunderbird,Libreoffice etc).But I cant find any terminal which is based on Gtk so that I can complete this theming. So do you people know of any GTK based Terminal for wayland?

Is there any google lens alternative aka a good OCR app for android which is Foss.

I am trying to use matrix as my primary instant messenger but facing issue in setting up encryption. Whenever I login on any new client all my old messages remain encrypted and became unusable.I tried entering security key but still unable to restore messages.

Few days ago I got a AI Search engine which searches web, find best results then summarise pages and gived result in interactive chat. It was Open Source and had minimal interface.

Please help to get it back as I lost it from memory of phone and brain. (I got it on lemmy but on another ID).

Disclaimer : I am absolute noob in terms of SSH kind of stuffs.

I maded a SSH key on ConnectBot app on android.I still have password of that key.I got a private and public key.I shared public key with tildes for making accounts.Now they know me by my that key but I want to login by termux. On termux I installed openssh and tried to login it says that authentication failed.

So I just need to backup keys from connected bot and restore on termux and my PC . Will it work ? How to do it? Will making a new pair of keys using same pass and name will work?

I did not got anything regarding this on searches
