Types of OS
  • So I have to use a windows machine for work. I can't tell you how awsome wsl is. You can use any Linux package on wsl. If you are crasy enough you can even run desktop environments like xfce. All this with nearly native speed.

Of cource things links a KVM aren't possible but nothing is nicer to just type wsl into your terminal and have your Linux distro of choice ready to go

  • Librewolf but like... for chromium?
  • Exactly default browser. Yes I tryed native and flatpak packages but it would constantly open all other browser instead of librewolf. Even if I defined a other one in the mineapps file

  • Librewolf but like... for chromium?
  • I will try it out after work. Do you know a way to provent automatic openings instead of librewolf? I'm currently using Hyprland and was using the appimage so it doesn't have any conflicts.

  • Librewolf but like... for chromium?
  • The point of useing it is that privacy invasive sites like twitch or skribbl.io would still work. Twitch technicality works fine on stock Firefox unless you don't save your history, how dare you.

Yea I don't know a better one yet

  • systemwide subtitles for linux
  • Yes it work with English content very well. You can rerout all your audio to it via helvum. The big problem is that it only has 3 languages supported English, French and Polish. So it technicality works but not in German unfortunately. But I can say now it partly works on Linux.

  • systemwide subtitles for linux

Hey guys I'm currently working on a presentation about accessibility and I noticed that Linux seams not to have any systemwide subtitle support like windows 11 and MacOs(beta feature). Does anyone of you know a project that can do that or is there simply no solution for this problem.

alias 2024='echo "YEAR OF THE DESKTOP"'
  • To be honest it is reliable on my system and the best thing is that I don't have to think about updates, out of date dependence, package versions or packages in general. Just paru package done. As long as you are fine with setting some stuff up manually Arch is pretty amazing.

  • What is your opinion on the new like and dislike button in Spotify?
  • It is some kind of what you said. If you press the + button again you get a menu to add the song to a playlist. Another point that I missed is that the "like" button also adds the song to your favorite list.

  • What is your opinion on the new like and dislike button in Spotify?

So Spotify recently changed from a green heart and a block song button to and + and a - for liking and disliking. What is your opinion?

My personal preference would be to bring back the green heart and make a deep red broken heart.

And I know spotify is proprietary yada yada I don't care for music streaming. So pls don't let it be a part of the discussion.

To reference this is an old screenshot I found on the internet.

Gaming with google stadia controller on Linux

Hello Guys I resently bought a google stadia controller used for 15€ with the bluetooth firmware enabled

The only problem I have with it is support on the distros I dailydrive Arch I followed the arch wiki but there was a lot missing about this controller. The only distro I found to work out of the box was nobara

I search a bit in the preinstalled packages and the only few outlier i found were Networkmanager from the fedora-update repo and nobara-controller-config from the nobara-baseos repo

Does anyone have a idear how I could get the contoller to work on my Arch installed? It is possiable to archive this on arch because I saw other people get it to work on the steam deck what runs a arch based os

    I would appreciate any help
