A cool guide to Epicurean Paradox
  • In my quick searching, I can't find much info on it. It seems that he made it in response to the idea that there were Greek gods that were concerned with humanity's wellbeing and actively took a positive part in our existence. His ideas don't apply to one religion or even try to say that there is no god, rather he is just saying that the gods are too busy / unconcerned with humanity's wellbeing which was not the common view of the period.

  • From what I can find and from what I know, it is grammatically correct however French is not my first language. As an English speaker I would probably go "parler le français"

  • Fucker banned me rather than having any kind of discussion at all. Please tell me which policies make the republicans akin to nazis, or is it just that you refuse to have any kind of constructive discussion online and enjoy basking in the morcel of power you have to demonize those you don't like

  • This goes into a fight over philosophy of human nature. However, since the days of the Roman republic over 2000 years ago where capitalism wasn't even a concept, people have used political systems to consolidate and gain power over others. It is undoubtabele that there will be people who try to co-opt the system for their personal gain

  • On a somewhat unrelated note I have a Ukrainian classmate who had to return to Ukraine to renew his passport (they suspended consular services outside Ukraine). He has about 2 weeks before turning 18 and being legally banned from leaving the country. Hope the best for him
