Different GPUs in one PC.
  • They should work together. You are running Windows or Linux?

You’ll have to be careful to install compatible drivers that work for the two different GPU generations, but otherwise shouldn’t be too tough to manage.

You’ll just need to set which GPU is default for graphics applications.

  • Notepad++ wants your help in "parasite website" shutdown
  • I actually work for the registry that is site is registered with. Identity Digital has an abuse policy in place, so if any evidence of malware distribution or anything that runs afoul of said policy pops up I can escalate the handling of this site internally. I’ll check back on this and similar articles and forums to see if any update happens, but PMing me here on Lemmy also works too. However, until they do something that goes against one of our policies, my hands are tied unfortunately.

Edit: I can refer this to legal and see where the trademark dispute falls.

Edit 2, 2024.05.22: I’ve sent two emails to the developer’s email address, no response received.

  • Steam Deal: Save 90 % on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (2,99€)
  • I’ve played it! So player count >= 1.

Overall, a nice game. I tend to enjoy shorter, linear games over giant, open worlds so this was right up my alley. It is a decent puzzler with some meh combat to boot. Visuals are great, audio superb (use headphones!), and mildly challenging gameplay. I say meh combat because you really don’t do all that damage unless you have a "super" active, so it feels very much like your main weapons are paper until said super is ready.

It isn’t really an achievement hunting game, you’re mostly there for the psychosis-focused narrative and occasional boss battle. I definitely enjoyed this far more than Assassin’s Creed <insert title>, but not quite as much Alien: Isolation.

For this price, I’d say worth a play. My play through was on Gamepass, so based on the number of games I play a month (2-3 all the way through), this is about the price I "paid".

Edit: I did start an original play through on PC at launch, but never finished due to university finals. I recently (6-ish months ago) saw it was on Gamepass so gave it another go.

  • Roku Issues a Mandatory Terms of Service Update That You Must Agree To or You Can't Use Your Roku
  • For anyone who gets this abhorrent soft brick on their Roku TV, MAC address filter your TV on your router (prevents it from accessing the internet and phoning home). Hard restart your TV (unplug and replug since they lock you out of restarting via GUI), and Bob’s your uncle (dumb TV with no forced agreement for continued "dumb" use).

Unclear how long this will last, but as long as you keep your TV off the internet you should be good to go.

  • YouTube Music team laid off by Google while workers testified to Austin City Council about working conditions
  • Also curious about this. I don’t run a firm, but I do have to cleanup and maintain consultancy projects after they get dumped on me / "my team". I’ve been trying to think of ways to prevent contracts with "certain" companies, but since I am one of few technical people interacting with these projects it is proving harder said than done. My complaints on quality of code, maintainability, et cetera are met with "they move faster", "they have more expertise doing projects like this", and "they help keep us lean".

I do feel like my position in the company is mostly herding cats (read: consultancy projects), which is a bit unfortunate given it wasn’t really what I thought I was being hired to do.

  • Judge in New York fraud trial threatens to jail Trump for violating gag order
  • I am not a lawyer, but my first thought is that you cannot pass a six figure (or more) fine for this kind of infraction. Even though Trump is starting to show a pattern of disregarding this specific case’s proceedings, the judge would have to start at a reasonable amount and go up from there. In this case, I searched for reasonable fines for violating a gag order and got $1000 to $10000. If he handed down a $500,000 fine then the media / right would go crazy questioning if this fine was justified by Trump’s actions. I think we all know that regardless of the sum (barring $100,000+ fines), Trump is gonna disregard the fine and do it again. But doing so gets Trump closer to actually being imprisoned (in theory). The actual threat of being imprisoned is far more likely to quiet Trump than a monetary fee. ‘Tis the life of the (comparatively) rich, monetary fines don’t have the same sticking power as for you and I.
