A school shooting videogame made by the parents of a victim aims to change minds about gun control: 'This is not a scary game, it's an educational game'
  • IIRC you never actually have to shoot any of the civilians in that level, but as players we all assumed that you did. IMO that level was the most interesting commentary that has been made in the COD series because it (somewhat sneakily) put the onus onto the player. Most of us just assumed that we needed to gun down the civilians without choice. In my opinion its one of the more poignant moments in the entire series for how it handled such a grim story beat.

  • Currently downloading The Witcher 3 for the first time. Got any advice for me?
  • If you have the patience for it, try playing on a much harder difficulty. The medium and low difficulty levels don't provide the same weight. Many systems in the game are unnecessary at lower difficulty levels but higher difficulty forces you to engage in them to get the extra edge over certain encounters.

Higher difficulties force you to engage in potion brewing, reading up on enemies, and making genuinely tough choices morally in order to keep Geralt alive. Lower difficulties remove all the tension from these systems.

Also as another user mentioned, don't skip any dialogue and engage in the side quests/contracts as they give a lot of unique flavor and nuance to the world and story.

  • 'Kaos' Canceled After One Season at Netflix
  • I really like Kaos and this is a bummer. Really goes to show that I shouldn't get into any Netflix series until it's all finished. Guess that one's on me for thinking they wouldn't cancel a well received show like this again...

  • Best games that can be completed in under ten hours?
  • Dredge

Had no idea what to expect going into it. Had only heard that it was a cosmic horror fishing game and decided to give it a try. Ended up loving it!

Not a huge game in terms of scope but feels it nailed every mechanic and the art style and delivery is top notch

  • Can videogames trigger a heart attack?
  • If you're playing games that give you a response with your heart rate, them id say that's probably a bit risky. Would definitely be worth asking your doctor as I am not a medical professional. Could be worth trying some more chill games that don't produce an adrenaline response like that.

employees aren't motivated by the idea of making money for shareholders
  • This title is kind of obnoxious. What the Founder adds is that managers and C-Suite need to find other ways to motivate their employees. It's not the "Nobody wants to work anymore" take that we see a ton of. The article writer has to have realized the ambiguity and kept it to drive engagement.

  • INSIDE those OLD pinball machines
  • I've been there!! Amazing spot to play pinball, just wish they served beer... I'm pretty sure they have over 200 tables and some fairly rare ones. Bonzai Run, and Water world are 2 that had fairly limited runs but can be played there.

  • What gifts are you getting for your friends and family members?
  • When I'm struggling to come up with a gift idea I usually resort to something nice that can be eaten or drank. Some nice chocolates, coffee or liquor can be a great gift that won't leave someone with something they never use.

  • Missing a few party members

I think I left a few party members behind who I was supposed to pick up in Act 1. I don't have Wyll, the guy flew off the windmill and died.

I'm on the fence whether it's worth restarting. I might just play the game over again after I finish but that seems like a major commitment. Any advice?

Spoilers: I just got to the Inn in through the mist to give a reference for how far along I am.

Edit for clarity: I thought the windmill guy was a separate party member but it seems like that's not the case. Doesn't seem like I'm missing much by not having Wyll in the party so I'm thinking I'll keep going.
