One can only guess that there is a large and chronically uninformed body of people that only get their information from the bad guys' personal propaganda machine.

I find that people who use the term woke, are refering to an imagined enemy that they are unable to define very well. It means "Those extremely unreasonable people I am told about that probably exist somewhere.". It's a convenient, etherial enemy to blame problems on.

Im guessing republican voters are not voting for this guy cause of what he says or does; but for what they are being told the democrats are doing. They are mostly being lied to and don't have the energy to find out for themselves. That is what's going on, right?
