Convergent evolution is a thing. Aliens that live in similar natural habitats and that fill similar ecological niches as humans will likely evolve along similar lines due to facing similar pressures. With that said, this is a very big assumption and all that it really tells us is that it is not impossible for "humanoid" alien life to exist.
Also, whatever is out there, we'll never know for certain. Distances are just too large. Space is so incredibly, unfathomably big that it's almost certain that there's other intelligent life out there. However, space is also so incredibly, unfathomably big that it's almost certain that we'll never meet it.
It's probably still going to take some projects with it. If you've sunk hundreds or even thousands of manhours into a project you can't just... do it again, or at least not always. Especially not if you've invested money as well as time, which is probably the case for most indie projects that aren't literal one-person shows.
That assumes that everyone will be willing to have children with just about anyone, regardless of their personal opinion of them, and regardless of whether or not they even want children to begin with. You can't selectively breed humans without massive human rights violations.
I did. Explicitly cheering for Ukrainian deaths or not, they support the invasion, which means they support murdering Ukrainians by default. You can't have it both ways, if you support Russia, you support the murder of Ukrainians.
We're not talking about 40-somethings who can't get off of cigarettes, we're talking about teenagers who are starting to smoke/vape because they think it's cool.
And your attitude really could use some improvement, you're coming across as a colossal, condescending dick.
Is it? Because if you thought I meant "it's better to just smoke" then you've misinterpreted me, I meant "neither is a good idea". If that was ambiguous then I apologise.
The judgement on vaping is still out. It's not been around for long enough to know what health effects it'll have in the long-term, but since you're still inhaling things your lungs just aren't made to inhale I expect that it will have a negative impact on health.
The current system is entirely sustainable. It does need reforms, but a regulated market economy combined with strong social welfare programmes is the best economic system we've come up with so far, by a very large margin. Planned economies were attempted, they universally failed.
Correct, all diminutives are neuter in German. In this instance the base word is die Magd (historically the maiden, nowadays the maid), which is grammatically female.
Which they technically didn't. I'm sure Nvidia has a legal team that vetted their solution, they certainly have the money for it. At this point the "protection" against the proprietary driver is just anti-consumer.
Yeah, no. Death threats are acceptable in exactly the following circumstances:
That's it. Nothing beyond that.
