  • Firefox is unbelievably slow when I'm watching youtube videos

I have about 25 extensions (almost all needed) and firefox lags like crazy, it's like I'm watching the videos at 10 fps. I download chrome to test it out and sure enough it runs as smooth as butter. Any help?

EDIT: It somehow fixed itself after I started using LibreWolf (with the same addons)

  • Recently switched to a new AMD GPU from NVIDIA on pop!_OS, do I have to install anything?
  • the thing you said makes sense because the rips can't be seen in an obs recording

  • Recently switched to a new AMD GPU from NVIDIA on pop!_OS, do I have to install anything?
  • It seems my comment didn't send but I plugged the HDMI cable to another port on the monitor and it got rid of the big glitches, however a small portion of them still remains. My GPU seems to be connected correctly as well and these glitches are not present in Windows. I'm updating the OS as we speak I'll see if anything changes

  • Recently switched to a new AMD GPU from NVIDIA on pop!_OS, do I have to install anything?
  • one more thing, for some reason after I installed the GPU it does this glitch thing yes. I tried rebooting

  • Recently switched to a new AMD GPU from NVIDIA on pop!_OS, do I have to install anything?
  • yes it’s installed, also is there a program I can use to configure? Something like NVIDIA control panel but for AMD

  • Recently switched to a new AMD GPU from NVIDIA on pop!_OS, do I have to install anything?

I've already made a post about this, I made the switch from an Nvidia GPU to an AMD one and I was wondering if I needed to install anything extra. I've heard the drivers are included inside the kernel but how do I ensure that it's installed?

FOSS version of google drive or other drives that I can host on a raspberry pi

I want to degoogle and this is one of the last steps. The free versions of other services provide too little storage so I was wondering if I can make a cloud using my raspberry pi

Which GPU to choose for Linux gaming?

so my old GPU died a few days ago and I was thinking which brand of GPU to get next. AMD or Nvidia? I've heard Nvidia drivers are very annoying with Linux but I've never had an AMD GPU before. Which would be better? I'll sometimee switch to Windows to play specific games as well.

    Most comments are hidden

On my lemmy.ml instance, most of the comments on my posts get hidden. I can see them from my notifications but not the actual posts. However I can perfectly see all of them on other instances like lemmy.world. Is this normal?

Going to use Arch on a VM, which should I use?

I want to get into Arch Linux, but I don't have that much experience and I feel like it'll be easier to set it up in a virtual machine rathen than dual booting, I've used Oracle VirtualBox before but it's very laggy. Are there any other VMs that aren't as laggy, or do I just have a hardware issue?

so Android is mostly developed by google so I assume it also sends a lot of data over to google. Is there an OS that's privacy respecting?

    Long replies get hidden (?)

I don't know if this only happens but most of the long reply I get, or see on other posts, are hidden. I can only view these in the inbox section, and no, it's not my VPN I tried it without too and got the same results. Also on my own posts I simply cannot see any of the parent commwnts (happens on this post as well)

    Hosting windows to play games

I saw from a post that you can basically host your own mini windows inside of linux to play games with, and you can choose what to share with that little windows so microsoft can't track you in any way. Does anyone have a tutorual/guide for that? Also what Distro would be best for it?
