Yazi - Blazing fast terminal file manager written in Rust, based on async I/O
  • To be fair this is a terminal file manager... only a certain kind of person will be interested in the first place,

    that's the point

and those people are likely to be more inclined to leave a star on GitHub.

I don't see that connection. But you know what, here is an example.

Broot is a similar program. It has been there for longer, has been loved by many, yet it has fewer stars.
If I would know more of those like this, I would probably have more examples.

  • Statuses updated and a keyboard | F-Droid | TWIF
  • you're right, thanks for letting me know

This means that F-Droid can verify that an app is 100% free software while still using the original developer’s APK signatures.

then I don't understand it either why it can't be updated directly

  • Hacking Kia: Remotely Controlling Cars With Just a License Plate.
  • "Not good enough" = not important to you

    you have misunderstood something.

not good enough means the downsides highly, severely outweigh the upsides. It's not that "I wouldn't use it and then you shouldn't have it either", it's that there are very good reasons to not have these in my car, or anyone's really, in a way where they cannot be removed!

  • Hacking Kia: Remotely Controlling Cars With Just a License Plate.
  • I don't know what "the first bunch" is so I can't answer that but these are all definitely use while away from the car.

sorry, I wanted to mean these:

My car reminds me if the doors are unlocked or left open. I can adjust the charging speed at any time. I can turn on the HVAC and seat heaters before I leave. I can see my current state of charge. I can see exactly what is happening when my alarm goes off

    _

Is that a real question? You're going to figure out why your alarm is going off, and if it's stolen you're going to give it to the police so they can recover it...

yes, why do you need a moving, online accessible high quality surveillance camera system is a real question.
I don't think you need this to report it to the police, the loud alarm and policeman on the road searching for the stolen car has worked well for decades. or at least I haven't heard of car theft in.. a pretty long time, so long that I don't even remember.

I dunno what an "extension" is but pretty sure it doesn't exist or can't do these things.

oh it would exist if laws would force car makers to not place unremovable tracking systems in the car by default.

but I that being said, think these tings do exist, in the form of little devices thay you can connect to your car's OBD port, and they have a GPS receiver and a SIM slot to do it's job.

  • Languages
  • yeah but I don't want to use up 20 GB just for a single project. It's not like my hard drive is 80% free. more like 10% free, even though it's large, because I'm using it and I'm already selective on what I'm doing on it

  • I think it boils down to, java has a lot of ceremony, which is designed to improve stability. I think this makes code bases more complex, and gives it the reputation it has.

I'm not a java programmer, but I like it more because python and js projects are often very messy

  • I doubt that amount of stars can be achieved naturally in this short time, especially from a developer previously unknown.
the program is certainly not used by likehappy common people, this would seem complicated and scare them away

  • YouTube confirms your pause screen is now fair game for ads
  • how do we support it? how, when we don't upload any content, we only give them server load instead of money, and don't even increase the view count? how? if anything this is a loss for them, but not a gain that's for sure
