Intel breaks silence on 13th and 14th-gen Raptor Lake desktop CPU instability issues
  • Up to 128 cores. Not meant for gaming, but it cranks at server tasks, compiling & coding tasks, etc.

    There’s a windows dev kit (ARM) that I think is 3ghz: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/windows-dev-kit-2023

But bleeding edge stuff from MS means likely driver issues, and this isn’t something you’ll throw a dedicated graphics card in.

Still, feels like the tide is changing away from Intel. I too was looking at “ARM for Desktop” options a couple weeks back.

  • SCOTUS rulings leave public vulnerable to "horrible abuses", say legal experts
  • The SCOTUS will not save us. We need to vote.

Don’t count on anyone else to bail us out.

The only way to save democracy is to get voters to the polls. “Hoping” won’t work. Expecting SCOTUS, Norms, Guardrails, etc is going to fail. If you want democracy to continue, vote, get your friends to vote, run for local office, get anyone and everyone you know to go vote - even if you’re in a solid blue area.

Nothing is coming to save us.

  • Trump asks for conviction to be overturned after immunity ruling
  • He wasn’t convicted of paying off a porn star. He was convicted of fake business records and falsifying records to promote getting elected.

Not sure how that’s a presidential official act.

But maybe in the orange brain, he’s always been president.

  • Sinclair floods local news websites with hundreds of deceptive articles about Biden's mental fitness
  • I especially love how these stations, along with Fox will make these assertions of how, “lights are on but no one’s home”, then follow it immediately with how he’s the mastermind behind political prosecutions, controlling the DoJ and executing a coordinated anti-republican regime.

    Schrödinger’s Biden

    Who Qualifies

You may qualify for a credit for buying a previously owned, qualified plug-in electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV), including cars and light trucks, under Internal Revenue Code Section 25E.

    To qualify, you must:

    • Be an individual who bought the vehicle for use and not for resale
    • Not be the original owner
    • Not be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return
    • Not have claimed another used clean vehicle credit in the 3 years before the purchase date In addition, your modified adjusted gross income (AGI) may not exceed: $150,000 for married filing jointly or a surviving spouse -- $112,500 for heads of households -- $75,000 for all other filers

You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your income is below the threshold for 1 of the two years, you can claim the credit.

  • ELI5: Why is the recent LK-99 superconductor news a big deal?
  • Superconductors can transmit energy with no loss. However current superconductors require very low temps.

Room temp superconductors would open the door to much more efficient transmission of electricity in everything from the electric grid to your home computer.

Now whether the LK-99 can be replicated reliably, verified to be superconducting and what the properties of LK-99 would be at scale would dictate how it could be used (is it malleable? does it wear? are there things that cause it to lose its superconductive properties?).
