A brief discussion on expectation and courtesy in a duel
  • I got destroyed while i was using my deck to complete the Gemini Summons Challenge.

Like, you can see i am not pkaying for the win, why you want to win so badly (Master 1).

  • What It's Like To Buy And Use A Steam Deck In Australia
  • Pretty good 😂 I got it shipped from my parents. Owning both LCD and OLED versions. Definitely enjoying the OLED one.

  • How to avoid account lockout when using password vault?
  • I forgot to mention it, i use Aliases for everything, even my 2FA has one. This is basically hack proof, because they will never know the true email address (if they get the hand on my alias) where i receive the verification code. 👍

The only way they could steal your data is if they hack in your smartphone, or if you connect to shady Wi-Fi. Stay Safe Boys!

  • How to avoid account lockout when using password vault?
  • I use Proton Pass and Ente Authentication (2FA).

I can't access my Proton Mail without my 2FA, additionally I can't even access my 2FA without my email address (verification code is sent to my mail to unlock my 2FA codes + I need the master password). If i lose one of them I am screwed you would say, but it's not the case.

What I did is to write down my Proton Mail Password and its secret code for 2FA + My Ente Authentication credentials (mail + master password). This way I will always be able to access my Proton Mail, even if i lose access to my 2FA app.

This is the worst case scenario, i also have a second phone where i keep Proton Pass and 2FA logged in, so if I lose my main phone, I am not completely locked out.

  • Switched from uTorrent to QBitTorrent
  • Trasmission never worked well for me, on the other hand qBittorrent did the job perfectly.

  • Switched from uTorrent to QBitTorrent
  • QBittorrent has been my torrent Client for 4/5 years at this point, never having problems. It works on my Steam Deck too (Arch).

  • Help with laptop buying decision
  • My next Laptop will be Pangolin 15' from System76. A bit on the expensive side, but the unlimited support and the right to repair make it worth it. Following the specs, so you can have a look.

Like is not PRO, because you can do some light gaming on it, but definitely a good machine in my opinion.

  • need help fixing a hardware problem using linux
  • I think everything goes against the battery? Did you try to recalibrate it? Discharge the battery completely, and then go into the BIOS and wait until it turns off. Now charge it for a couple of hours while it stills off.

I don't think it is gonna fix anything, because it seems like a battery problem. Maybe try to get one from iFixIt, I had bad experiences with batteries from Amazon (if you got it from them).

  • Why do you use the terminal?
  • I usually use that to install updates.

  • NSFW
    Onlyfans and Piracy
  • I agree 100%, most messages are just bots, and now with the surge of AI it will be much harder to distinguish a real person from a computer.

  • NSFW
    Onlyfans and Piracy
  • OnlyFan contents are pirated and shared on a daily basis as any other media. But because there are not many requests for it (also since consuming directly on OnlyFan hits differently, as you talk with the actual girl), and in part because of NSFW nature, you will find them only if you actually search for them.

Sure thing, you will never encounter this kind of content on common NSFW websites 😁

  • D-PAD not working out of the box (Steam Deck OLED)
  • I was pretty disappointed to be honest. Support also offered to replace the unit, but the problem is I am in Australia, so it would be a pain to do that.

Lucky for me Steam Deck is a quite repairable device. 😁

  • D-PAD not working out of the box (Steam Deck OLED)

I just received my Steam Deck OLED 1Tb; the screen is amazing in relation to the LCD version, however I had a problem with the D-PAD not working at all.

I did some testing, and the D-PAD was unresponsive in Gaming Mode, Desktop, and in the BIOS as well, so I figured something wrong with my hardware.

I removed the back panel, and I saw almost instantly that the cable labeled as "DPAD" was disconnected(Right side, just beside the left trigger). Reconnected and now everything is working as intended.

So for short, if something doesn't work hardware wise, contact support, but it may be worth having a look inside and see if anything is disconnected.

    Happy Gaming 🎮

Looking to switch to Linux in the somewhat distant future
  • Why don't you try becoming comfortable with Linux while using it in a Virtual Machine? I tried different distros too, and then I decided which one was the best for me.

We can't really suggest you one, if we don't know what you are going to use it for.

You may want to do some research, because different distros have different purposes (gaming, privacy, programming, easy to use etc etc).

Let us know, what your use cases will be?

  • Switched my Parents to Linux
  • It was hard for me too, but PopOS made my life easy back in the day when I first tried.

No drivers needed, everything worked out of the box, including the Nvidia GeForce 2060 Mobile. So I just needed to get comfortable with the OS in general.

  • iPhone is listening
  • As others have said, it may be the same WiFe.

I am pretty sure the iPhone is listening though, because I saw a prank where a woman whispered to the husband's iPhone about baby stuff (to have a baby), and he complained about receiving a ton of ads about baby stuff just after that. So yes, welcome to the apple garden ahah

  • Switched my Parents to Linux
  • Good job on that! Linux is way better for average uses like you described. 😊

  • Silly question for those comming from a iPhone. Do you miss imessage or was it not that big of a deal?
  • Yes, It makes sense. I don't have a Mac at the moment, so I can't do the same as you 😁

  • Silly question for those comming from a iPhone. Do you miss imessage or was it not that big of a deal?
  • I am using Beeper Mini: it is kinda cool to be honest. If you care to try it, now is the best time, because it's free for a limited time. Of course, you need to use your apple id, and you can't use your number (but they are trying to fix it).

After it will be 2$ a month.

  • What site should I trust?
  • Really extreme, but good to know. 😉

  • What site should I trust?
  • Yes, true that. :)

  • Facebook doesn't allow opening to external browser (v. 435.0.0.42.112)

As the title says, the latest version of Facebook doesn't allow you to open links in your default browser of choice.

I am pretty sure a couple of weeks ago I was able to do that, but in the last couple of days it started opening all links in the in app browser.

If you go "Setting & Privacy > Media > Open Links in an external browser" and enable it, Facebook will still use the in app browser for opening links.

    Anyway to get around this?

Brave VS DuckDuckGo : Most Privacy Focused Search Ingine

    Hello, how are you guys?

As the title says, what search Ingine are you currently using? I used DuckDuckGo for years, and just recently switched to Brave.

Also, what do you think about the Brave Browser? I have been using FireFox since forever.

    Thank you for reading.

(Question) Anyone here with an Adder WS from System76?

I am rocking an Xiaomi Gaming Laptop (i7 9th, GeForce 2060, 32Gb Ram) with PopOS installed since day one. It is working fine (a bit annoyed because there is no way of finding a new battery for replacement), but I was thinking of switching to something more open source and with Linux officially supported.

Anyone here with an Adder WS (or any other System76 laptop)? How do you find yourself with it? Mainly curious about the battery life.

    Thank you for reading.
