Tell one thing that you miss after switching from another OS to Linux.
  • I think the module I'm using, which could be Kingmaker or any number of other modules, might be gpu accelerated. Idk why exactly, but having the view for my players on the second monitor while mine is on the main causes it to dramatically slow down and freeze within a minute or so, to the point where the browser window doesn't click and drag. All I really know is that it works on xorg and not on Wayland, and no distro that runs well in this accursed laptop is stable (endeavor OS turned off my Nvidia drivers in an update and ran everything through the amd apu) or comes with an xorg version of the DE (Fedora Bazzite also doesn't have this, but at least it works otherwise). I transitioned to a purely online game at that time for other reasons, but I was looking longingly at how Windows users don't have to put up with that bullshit, or at least not nearly as much.

  • Man, I just want Foundry VTT to work on my second monitor, it used to work but all the distros that moved over to Wayland DEs exclusively mean that I can't use the thing I want and have the laptop do it's one job of displaying foundry on my table TV. I guess what I really want is for Nvidia so put out better Wayland drivers.

  • The only place the OK City bombing was considered a war was inside Timothy McVeigh's diseased mind, so I would contest that his rental van was not a technical, but mostly on a technicality.

Biden Administration Opposes Surgery for Transgender Minors
  • Maybe they don't want those divots in the side of their nose? But it might be more in line with being nervous about Lasik or something, which I get because I haven't gotten it because 1) I don't have the money and 2) my understanding is that they cut into your eye so a flap of it is just there. If someone were to punch me in the face after, it might be easier to pop my eye! I haven't looked much deeper into it, but that's my, maybe irrational, fear. Apparently the better surgery to get is one where they grind down your eyes to have better lenses, but that seems like a huge thing also, probably more expensive, and it would take a long time healing from it while essentially being blind.

  • Exclusive: Farage: Capitalism is Dead, We're Living in Corporatism
  • The thing about fascists is that they do sometimes point out real problems, but their explanations on the causes and their solutions for those incorrect causes are wildly unreasonable. For example, Nigel here probably believes that "corporatism" is caused by the companies exploiting (white, British) people being owned by non British and non white people, and his solution is to ban those people from owning anything and indeed deport non white people and immigrants instead of regulating the actions of businesses in any way. So even if he's correct that it's a problem that people are suffering and the government is corrupt, he and Breitbart can't be worked with because their solutions are bullshit and sharing glowing articles about them promotes their explanations and solutions.

  • Difficult decisions
  • I had seen a post here a few days ago where they hired a third party to go over the allegations that Madison made, and they were essentially cleared however long after, but were also told that they still need to work on reporting and hr stuff. Which to me indicates that there was probably no documentation made if they did happen, so it would be impossible to audit like two years later, because being ignored when she told someone about the sexual harassment was one of her complaints. However, maybe you trust a neutral third party because taking the side of the company every time means their reputation for neutrality would be worthless, which means their business is dead. But in LTT's statement they made it clear that while they did believe there was enough in their report to justify a defamation case, they just want to leave it behind them. Great stuff to include in your statement /s.

  • Harry Potter and the Transgender Problem
  • Could be, we know from 7 that they're bespoke for every match for catch dispute reasons, the artisans could probably tweak them to match a school league. That said, I don't believe Rowling put this much thought into it.

  • Harry Potter and the Transgender Problem
  • And there was a point in... 3, I think, where Harry was instructed to delay catching the snitch until they were at least 50 points up because they wouldn't have enough league points or something to progress if he didn't.
