Not OP but here you go. I work with young people and have had suicide prevention training multiple times, this is a recurring mantra that not asking about it is much worse than asking.
I watched it yesterday and had a similar reaction. There's really good animation and the story was really good to get more depth for hey character. There were also some interesting call backs. Spoilers below!
Samson still had his powers so we got to see those in action. Also the green phasing person was a man, in the invincible series it's a woman so I wonder what happened there? The people in tubes reminded me of robot too, I wonder if we're going to get more of the others origin stories as well? Monster girl would be cool to see how she got cursed like that
Giving you an upvote for FFVII, that was the game that got me into gaming. Still have the best memories of that one
Homophobia is rising in parts of Africa, with lawmakers pushing for tougher anti-LGBTQ legislation.
The current status is that he's really active on lemmy still and will sometimes pop in on these type of posts and answer your questions.
He did do a follow up about how to take a poop when you haven't for three days lol. So he clearly had trouble getting started again but I think he's well now.
Did the cat have to sign with their paw? Please say yes even if it isn't true
Is this real? It's too cute to be real isn't it?
Thank you for another great update. Can't wait to see how this app ends up 😁
They're kinda fun! Just been figuring them out to upvote you!
This is kind of how I thought it might be. Due to the way it all works I don't think we can really do much about it and will just have to adjust I guess.
Thank you! I didn't think of that, changed it now.
Thanks for answering. What are you paying them for? To keep it clear of advertising, so bannning advertising accounts? Or something else? What about accounts on other instances, paying your instance owner won't affect them?
You can already donate to your instance, and should if you can afford it 😊
As the instance rules? So if anyone posts an advertising post the account is banned? Or each person blocking and moving on?
This is the second advertising post I've seen on lemmy and they were both today. I'm wondering how other people feel about it or if they've even seen posts like this?
Personally I'm livid and hate seeing it here. One of the things that attracts me to lemmy is the donation based, volunteer run, distributed, open access nature of it. I don't want it to become profit driven and I really don't want to see companies in what I belive should be a purely social endeavour. I really think making it profit driven will ruin it, if that means it stays smaller then I'm okay with that.
Now I know I can block them and move on which is what I've done. I'm also pleased to say that both posts I saw were heavily downvoted and I did my part too.
I'm curious if other people agree with me and don't want advertising like this on lemmy? Also, what do people think we can actually do about it if we don't want it around? Petition instance admins to ban advertising accounts? Then how do we define one? Can anything actually be done or do I just have to block and move on from a possibly ever increasing flow of advertising until I get bored and move on?
Sorry for the long rambling post and thanks if you read this far.
I'm very pleased to hear that! I'll stop complaining and adding to the negativity 😌
Thank you as always, I really appreciate the breakdowns and transparency. Also thank you for reminding users that you're all volunteers and actual people running this, I've seen a lot of awful entitlement recently and some really unpleasant posts
Hey there! If you read the sidebar for lemmy.world the links to donate are all there 😊
Hi! I'm in the UK and use catbox for all my images here on lemmy. I read that I'm not supposed to be able to access it but I've not had any issues
No worries! It was shared with me (on here I think) so I'm just spreading the love 😁
Overcoming the Pain of Growing Up Gay in a Straight Man's World. Today's gay man enjoys unprecedented, hard-won social acceptance. Despite this victory, however, serious problems still exist. Substance abuse, depression, suicide, and sex addiction among gay men are at an all-time high, causing many ...
I read this book years ago when it was the first edition. It really spoke to me about some feelings I thought were really personal but turned out to be fairly common.
I read it again years later and it was a good read again. It has some really useful lessons and ideas I think.
I'm really curious if anyone else has read it, particularly someone younger than 40, and what they thought about it. If you haven't read it I would recommend giving it a go if you can find it, I'm going to give it another read now it's popped into my head.
Not when did you come out, that's a whole different story, but when did you know you were a gay bro?
I've always been excited by other guys, I remember being very young (like 7/8) and getting a bit too into the wrestling. My parents turned it off 😩
I was around 13 when someone said something about 'gay' and I learned it was a whole thing. It was like a light bulb moment and a bunch of things instantly made sense. And that was it, came out to some friends not long after and that was it.
How about you guys?
And another image that looked kind of nice
I'm enjoying animal headed people and animals doing unusual things like going to work at the moment.

I asked for Mr Peanutbutter doing a photo shoot for Dior and got some cute results, inspired by the other user and their dog pictures.

I found this one where he has full on hands a bit disturbing

I've read that uploading all your images/gifs/videos to lemmy will cause big server costs down the line.
I wanted to do my part in keeping the costs low so which site or app or whatever do people recommend to upload your media to for linking in posts? I've tried imgur and I'm not really a fan
