How many Lemmy users are non-technical background?
  • I'm a registered nurse and came over from years of Sync Pro. Currently using Connect and I quite like it.

Edit: though not in a technology centered career, technology is very integral to what I do.

I have also been into computers and technology for a long time.

  • Selling a video card on ebay: Safe again?
  • I've nothing but good experiences with that subreddit.

I'm not well versed in discord, but I may have to check it out.

It's one of the subreddits I was most sad to see fall to reddit's nonsense.

  • Selling a video card on ebay: Safe again?
  • I was going to recommend r/hardwareswap but I'm not sure how it's faring since 3PA's we're nixxed.

Sad, because I've bought and sold several GPUs there with no issue.

Was actually looking to sell my Ayaneo2 in order to partially find an ROG Ally but didn't have the time before July.

  • How do you post a picture?

Probably more stupid than most questions here, but Lemmy seems to have a learning curve. I'm using Connect to access the fediverse.

I've tried using the upload icon (next to the URL field) to upload a photo from my phone, but it remains blank after I try to select a photo.

Do I need to use an external hosting service like imgur? That method has always been clunky to the point that I just never used it in the earlier days of reddit.

  • Ghost runner is really fun. Fast paced first person cyber parkour ninja that can dilate time. Dies in one hit. Infinite instant respawns. Great soundtrack. Perfect for speedrunning. I've played through it and the dlc about 4 times.

  • Third party Reddit apps just got canned.
  • That's my concern with Lemmy so far. Seems like a nice place, but there was a subreddit for every one of my interests where I could find and give useful information. Hoping that picks up here!
