    Edit:

Changing the language in settings from "Undetermined" to "English" fixed it for me.

YSK: There's a history of animals being charged for criminal acts

Why YSK: Did you know that throughout history, there have been cases where animals were actually charged with criminal acts? It's pretty surprising, right? These stories give us a unique glimpse into how societies have dealt with the actions of animals and how the legal system has responded. By learning about these cases, we can see how our attitudes towards animals and ideas of justice have evolved over time.

UPDATED: There are now multiple iOS / Android apps in development for kbin & lemmy!

    cross-posted from: https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/71764

    > The amount of apps being developed for iOS / Android is getting really crazy now and new apps keep popping up every day. Updated list below: > > * Artemis (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link > * Memmy (iOS, lemmy): link > * Mlem (iOS, lemmy): link > * Morpha (iOS, lemmy): link > * Thunder (iOS, Android, lemmy): link > * Beyond (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link > * Limbo (iOS, Android, lemmy): link > * Jerboa (Android, lemmy): link > * Slide (Android, lemmy): link > * Sync (Android, lemmy): link > * Unnamed (kbin): link > * Connect (Android, lemmy): link > * Summit (Android, lemmy): link > * Lemmynade (Android, lemmy): link > * WefWef (Web App, lemmy): link > > Most apps on the list are lemmy apps, meaning they don't work with kbin. Artemis is specifically designed to work with kbin, not sure if or when any of the other ones will go in that direction or become interoperable as there are some challenges with the kbin API at the moment. Having said that, a new API is in the works (https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/pulls/357) so things should get better with time. Some of the apps are in very early stage of development so it may happen that they adjust OS availability and platform support.

Which 3rd party apps are you using for Lemmy?

Hi Lemmyfolks, I'm currently using the Jerboa client for Lemmy. I'm curious to know what other 3rd party clients people are using?

    A new direction, not bad.

I just finished watching Season 6. I was expecting the same realistic, grounded, futuristic stories as in previous seasons, but this time, the show took a more metaphoric approach. I liked the new flavor that Charlie Brooker added, but in that one episode it felt too fictional for Black Mirror (yes metaphorically it was spot on but still). I so wanna share my thoughts but being mindful of the spoilers as of now esp for the ones using mobile app lol.

But honestly I did enjoy. Full credits for the soundtracks choice. The majority were impeccable and blended soo nicely with the scenes. I've compiled a Spotify playlist of all the songs. I've also linked to a site that lists the songs episode by episode.

I hope you enjoy the season!

Addressing Spoiler Labels and Seeking Community Input!

We've noticed that our current platform lacks a proper spoiler tagging system, and we understand how important it is to preserve the surprise for everyone.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for an alternate way to handle spoilers here, we'd love to hear them. Please share your thoughts in the comments below. Together, we can brainstorm and find a temporary workaround until we have a more permanent solution.

In the meantime, we kindly ask all members to be considerate and mindful when discussing plot details, twists, or significant spoilers. Let's use vague or general terms to avoid spoiling the experience for others. Remember, surprises are an essential part of Black Mirror!

Thank you for being part of our amazing community, and let's work together to maintain the excitement and intrigue of Black Mirror!

EDIT: We can rely on the spoiler button (can be found along with the formatting/styling buttons) as spotted by @schmalls@lemmy.world but its highly suggested that we don't go with the spoilers for now as mobile app (Jerboa) doesn't support spoiler toggle currently

One Small step, a giant leap for Fediverse but...

Day 2 here, and I can see the growth already. Personally I really like the notion of how its gonna shape up in the future but at the same time I really feel for the average user as of now its too complex to understand the working and how the cross servers thing is working. I mean yes still early days, UI will improve further leading to a better UX but the core mechanism yet is little tough to get along. For instance, still unclear if I made the right choice by signing up on lemmydotworld why not lemmydotml , beehaw etc.... and where does this stop? like in the coming times i it would be like a thousands of servers lemmy.this lemmy.that lemmy.etc or anything.anything. That's soo confusing for someone who just wanna join a server. Would be interesting to see how "signup anywhere, its the same thing" evolves.
