Time to move to Linux and/or set sail on the seven seas.
I think the issue for some people might be that parts does not equal a whole, or to paraphrase, "a brain is more than the sum of its parts". A person upon hearing the concept of brain uploading might ask "is this upload really me, or would the digital brain be an AI copy mimicking me?" Something could get lost in the translation, but that's why I mentioned the Ship of Theseus. As far as some people are concerned, something is lost, BUT they would have trouble identifying what that something is (EDIT: other than actual organic gray matter). To the brain itself, it will think of itself as being the original, such that nothing was lost.
Let one meat cell die and a digital cell grow. Do you stop being yourself once all your brain cells are digital?
Real Ship of Theseus Hours (kinda).
Nah, that makes too much sense.
It might still be on for the sacrifice
“It is still our opinion the first successful red heifer sacrifice will take place in the spring of 2024 around the Passover to Pentecost timeframe.
When is Pentecost?
Sun, May 19, 2024
So we got a few days left.
EDIT: I think I miscalculated. The zionists might want to do the sacrifice just before the Sabbath, before sundown Friday Local Palestine Time.
So we may not have a few days left. We might have a few hours left if they stick to that schedule.
For a minute there, I thought I was looking at c/badposting.
Don't do it. At least, don't sign up for Plenty of Fish (POF).
It, in a word, sucks.
ESO and Guild Wars 2
But doesn't both the US and Russia have their salaries/wages lower relative to their prices though? I'm not sure how many Russians are below their median wage but in the US, it's something like 50% of earners are below the median US wage.
Eli mentioned that inflation had hit Russia ("prices are higher than 2 years ago, but when weren't they rising?" ~2:08 in) but from what she said, it seems like the rise is not as bad. In the US, what I'm noticing is that the rise in prices have been sharper in comparison to, in this instance, Russia. The inflation rate in the US for 2022 was listed as 8.0% - way above the 1.5% to 3.5% we usually notice. For 2023, the rate was 4.1% - still high for most US wage earners. I was barely at the median US wage for 2022 and 2023 and those grocery prices hurt back then. While with 2024 being an election year there is some calm in prices, we have the stagflation storm coming to the US.
I don't think your mom is exaggerating, especially with regards to the ruble. But I do think people underestimate how bad things have gotten in the imperial core. People here can barely afford to eat and most are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Yeah, we might be cool zone imminent (doubtful).
Yes, with the ancillary benefit that it's causing some austerity here in the US too.
2:45 into the video...
I'm looking at the pile of cheeses they have and those prices. Now somebody can correct me, but looking at the blue cheese for 199.99 rub for what looks like a 4 oz (~109g) wedge. Someone please correct me on the size if that doesn't look like a 4 oz (~109g) wedge.
Now converting that price into USD, it comes out to $2.17. Looking up the prices for the same 4 oz (~109g) wedge in the US, the cheapest I could find was Wal-Mart. The price? $3.78. So to compare in dollars, USans are paying almost twice (and more) what Russians would pay for the same or similar product. Even with sanctions.
I don't know who sanctions are supposed to hurt, but it damn sure isn't the Russians.
OK, so I have a janky but workable solution.
I am following the channels listed in this post: https://hexbear.net/comment/4885763
For some of them, I can get the RSS feed directly. For the ones that don't have a feed, I have bookmarked the post above and go directly to the shit web client.
I hate Telegram's requirement so I'm not gonna comply. Fuck it.
Ah! Thanks for that.
If you already know the channels, there are some Telegram -> RSS conversion services on the web that I've used successfully for just observing.
Do you know which services those are? Or are they just normal RSS links?
I have been using the shitty web client without an account.
How did you do that without having to log into Telegram on a phone?
Yup. I tried to log back in after logging out and it straight up said I was banned.
EDIT: Telegram said that my google number was banned. Not me myself. Sorry for the confusion.
Barclay? Shit, McCoy said it best when he told the female yeoman that he insisted on them beaming up first, "said something about first 'seeing how it scrambled our molecules.' "
And he said that just after two people got fried in the transporter!
I used my Google phone number but I got banned after 4 hours. I don't want to use my actual phone number.

For those that don't already know this...
Use https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache: and then paste in the webpage or website you wish to look at.
If you are just looking for a search term, select Text-only Version and Ctrl-F your way to your info!
My reason for doing this: Sometimes I search for a term and when I get the webpage that has the info, it isn't there after clicking. Mostly because Google's preview is from an outdated version of the webpage. But the Google Webcache still has it and you can still reach it even tho Google doesn't give links to their cached pages anymore.
EDIT: You can also look at Twitter (I'll never call it 'X') without having an account. https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://twitter.com/MouinRabbani/
This works on desktop. Not sure about mobile. On desktop, the formatting is frelled up but you still see all the posts.
Some Jews and Christians believe these Texas red heifers are the key to rebuilding a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, and to beckoning the Messiah.
Apparently the cow sacrifice happens ahead of the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which might actually start WW3 (if it hasn't started already.)

This is an update to https://hexbear.net/post/281447.
So this past Christmas, I finally got all of the parts together and put together my new Team Red PC.
It's beautiful! All black parts (I don't like unicron vomit). I went with a Ryzen 5600X instead of the 5800X3D (cheaper) and got that RX 6700 XT. I'm rocking 16 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM.
For the OS, I'm running a variant of Fedora called Nobara, made by Glorious Eggroll. It's made for Linux gaming because I am a filthy !freeze-gamer . The default DE is KDE Plasma.
I ran Phoronix Test Suite and used the Unigen Valley benchmark. I consistently got over 248 fps at 1080p 60 Hz. Can't go any higher until I swap out my monitor (aka my TV).
Anyways, Cheers y'all! (Pardon the mess. Output from Neofetch. Edited of course.) (EDIT: Edited for grammar and readability.)
