  • Curious what happens if you were someone would had opted in to ADP. If your data is fully encrypted, do you just get to keep using it that way? Does this only impact new users? Or, is Apple going to somehow capture users encryption keys and revert ADP?

  • I think you’re missing that we are being deeply manipulated by hoards of foreign influence campaigns. Social media has exploded propaganda in the US and divided the population. Some of this propaganda also comes from internal sources.

  • The problem is these people solved some novel problem in the world with their programming skills and it made them really rich. They have been lavished with praise, money, and attention their entire lives. They think they’re smart and that gives them license to invite themselves into other areas that they have no experience in. An example is obviously Elon Musk wading in to government, but even back during Covid he was making predictions about the spread of the disease, even though he has no background in medical science. His predictions were wildly wrong. Marc Andreessen is no different, and it doesn’t help that he literally looks like a cone head.

  • You need enough Republicans speaking up that they can impeach Trump. Dems are being quiet to let Republicans lead on this, they are the only ones who could possibly do it. Democrats leading will only make Republicans defend him.

Forced to have "Gulf of America"

  • Democrats did do more in 2017. They got a god damn Russia investigation for chrissakes. Dems are doing nothing right now. As much as they are in the minority, all the resistance noise made a huge difference in 2017 and 2018.

On the other hand, I do see a strategy whereby dems just standby and wait for their Republican colleagues in Congress to actually do something. If they attack now, Republicans will just defend Trump. But, if they don’t attack, then it will be up to Republicans themselves to decide when to push back on Trump, and of course then Democrats will be there to support that effort. However, they want to see it start on the Republican side. If Trump were going to be removed from office it would take a lot of Republican support. I don’t have high hopes though.

This article lends some weight to this idea.
