I feel like Fediverse users are nicer to each other and more generous with upvotes than reddit.
  • I would not overly praise old reddit like this. I agree that people were more open minded and willing to engage in substantive discussions, but old reddit was also hosting the likes of /r/jailbait, /r/coontown, /r/n*ggers. There's good and bad aspects.

  • Do you guys think local only communities should be a thing?

    I'm talking like communities exclusive to an instance where only instance members can participate in. This would be great for communities like The Agora.

  • Fediverse needs some more fault tolerance before it'll grow. Hopefully they eventually implement message queues so moderation decisions that fail to federate eventually will.
