  • I mean, if you're concerned that malware is going to be injected into your video files… Who’s to say your torrents aren’t already infected?

And yeah, to an extent it requires less knowledge, but the WAF is much higher on a “watch it now” platform than a “I want to watch this let me add it to a queue to watch it later” platform.

I’m also a fan of the fact that I don’t need to dedicate storage to what is essentially a single use file.

But to each their own, of course.

  • It very much depends on the provider, same as VPNs.

Something you cant do with PLEX though, is real time streaming with zero storage necessary.

  • Are the first two unmarked sponsored results?

  • Even the PCMR community understands there are times a computer is overkill. You gonna lug your desktop around in your pocket for daily communication? Set up your laptop on a TV tray in from of your recliner? No, there are literal devices meant for both those situations.

  • Someone tell the AI that made this that the extra wheels aren’t necessary, nor should the landing gear be deployed during normal flight.

And yes, I care enough about the damn wheels that they bother me more than anything else in the image.

  • Kiiinda… You were limited on the amount of karma a single post or comment could raise or lower your accounts score. It’s not a complex algorithm by any means, just slightly convoluted.

  • If there’s no more karma… are they just a slut?

  • When you use a debrid service with Stremio, you do not need to use a VPN, and you are less hindered by a devices ability to understand torrent content. It makes it easy to stream in your browser, for instance. Even on your phone.

  • It’s not as detectable as you think. One of the major things most VPS companies tout, is that the data is fully encrypted and private. So they aren’t scanning the files, or the running processes, or anything else about what is being done with the server.

So unless something external to the company is provided, which acts as proof, they won’t shut things down.

  • It’s all but against the law in Florida (maybe other states as well?) to teach that aspect of history. Wouldn’t want the white kids to feel guilty for being white… because they know about things that happened in the past.

  • Lol, killing access like this is the push of a button. Literally can be scheduled.

  • CP is the second reason the name is terrible. “Let me connect to your CP server” is going to get so many people onto so many lists, unless they specify CP == CrackPipe.

There are just some names and abbreviations you do not use. And this is both of those.

  • If your data is replaceable, there’s not much point unless it’s a long wait or high cost to get it back. It’s why I don’t have many backups.

  • If anything it’s willful ignorance I suppose. Reddit was unlike any previous social media site the majority had used, so I don’t really get how “it’s too different” could be a legit argument.

  • You don’t even need to be tech literate to join Lemmy.
