  • Nightdive Studios confirm Linux and macOS ports of System Shock are cancelled
  • I mean, native ports are cool and all, but are they really needed? I would assume the game runs just fine with Proton.

  • Though in the case of Steam, #3 is a bit questionable
  • If you're playing homebrew adventures, I'd say Pathfinder 2E Remastered is superior in every way nowadays.

  • Sync doesn't properly support Lemmy style markdown.
  • Thunder is unrecognizable compared to when you first tried it. I wasn't much into it either, but it has become the best client, by far.

  • Sync doesn't properly support Lemmy style markdown.
  • Isn't it abandoned by now? I've switched to Thunder which is awesome and open source and I don't have to worry about such shenanigans.

  • [Megathread] Android FOSS Apps - Lemmy edition
  • I have a few suggestions that I use daily.

    Thunder, my favorite Lemmy client.

Moshidon, awesome full-featured Material You client for Mastodon.

    Simplenote, for synced notes.

Authenticator Pro, a 2FA app. I actually like this better than Aegis.

AVNC, useful and light remote desktop VNC client.

Clock You, a simple Material You clock app.

Kuroba Experimental, a great imageboard viewer.

Read You, a modern Material You RSS reader.

Binary Eye, a cool QR code scanner/generator.

    FluffyChat, my favorite Matrix client.

Next Player, a cool native video player.

  • Bluesky opens up federation, letting anyone run their own server | TechCrunch
  • Nostr might be more private and autonomous, but it's full of crypto shams.

  • Goodbye Skiff
  • 10 active ones. You could delete the ones you didn't need anymore.

  • Skiff is joining Notion
  • That's a really cool one, thanks!

  • Privacy focused email recommendation
  • How would they be privacy-centric if they supported SMTP and IMAP?

  • Skiff is joining Notion
  • I was using their quick aliases all the time to get free Adobe trials. Is there any alternative? Gmail's "+" aliases are detected as aliases, Skiff was unpopular enough that they hadn't blacklisted them.

  • Palworld Might Have a MASSIVE Problem...
  • They seem to have stolen several 3D models from Pokémon. Like, not designs "inspired" by Pokémon. Actual 1:1 stolen models.

  • Hotel Dusk's ambitions were a perfect fit for the DS
  • It randomly was one of the first games I played on my DS. I was playing it for two or three days straight, I couldn't put it down. It was like reading a really good book. There's also a Europe/Japan-only sequel called Last Window: The Secret of Cape West if you're interested.

  • I feel like Cassette beasts deserves more hype than it gets. If you like monster collecting games, check it out.
  • I think Palworld got all the attention because of the Unreal Engine 5 graphics and the gun memes. It's not nearly as polished or Pokémon-like as Cassette Beasts. Its success also proves that people are lying when they're saying they prefer Pokémon 2D sprites because of their charm, compared to lifeless 3D models. Because Palworld's 3D models are even worse than Game Freak's.

  • For those who lurk on Reddit - my read-only, ad-free, open source Reddit viewer RDX is better than ever now
  • Unfortunately some studios, companies, etc. use it as an official or semi-official forum. I still lurk on AMD's subreddit, for example.

  • Who doesn't use an adblocker and why?
  • You only need uBlock Origin for all that.

  • Alexandrite 0.8.12 - Initial Lemmy 0.19.0 support
  • I've started blocking a few instances through the native UI, will those still appear on Alexandrite?

  • I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."
  • Yeah, precisely because piracy is a service issue, Turkey and Argentina are going to turn to piracy again, after Valve fucked them over.

  • Steam Deck OLED announced
  • Yeah, they've added 6GHz.
