The Design is Very Human
  • I love the natural direction for my track pad and phone, but I'll die before I use it on my mouse. I have to use a 3rd party app to make my mouse behave the way I want and still use a track pad

  • Keep in mind SD cards are not generally as durable as SSDs or HDDs, so rpi servers are doable but you should make sure to back it up. Some folks connect SSDs and make the sd card read-only for booting. I haven't done this myself as I prefer towers.

Also be sure to not let your pi lose power, this can corrupt the sd card.

  • I appreciate the activity, personally, though everything being political gets very tiring for me. The fediverse should be diverse and I believe things will get better with time. It would be premature to defederate. It's ok to have world views challenged, especially when the discourse is constructive and coming from a desire to reach and foster understanding. I'm hopeful we'll see that come true over time.

  • So, what's stopping you from getting a foldable? [Poll]
  • I work with a lot of crappy websites and embedded systems. I can't always carry a laptop, so a mobile device fits my use case very well. I also use my large screen to do split screen with two apps open at once, it makes taking notes and observations from videos and documentation a breeze.

  • So, what's stopping you from getting a foldable? [Poll]
  • I respect your opinion, but for me is it hardly a gimmick. I don't need a tablet in my bag to view websites that aren't compatible with mobile layouts, I have a tablet in my pocket whenever I want. Sure it's not for everyone, just like iPhones vs Android, but the form factor of foldables absolutely solves the needs of some customers and I'm grateful there's a line of products out there that fits my needs.

It took me a week or so to get used to the form factor but since then I can't imagine going back to a slab. Different strokes for different folks.

I can't seem to get the left panel to show the subscribe button after searching and selecting a community to browse. I have gestures disabled for context. I found that out after searching for this community and attempting to subscribe.

    3D prints as air purifiers

Actual, living plants can absorb air toxins when placed inside the house and that is one of the many reasons why people have been adding plants to their decoration indoors. But not everyone is capable of taking care of these plants. I am one of those people. I even managed to kill tiny cactus plants

Neat design, I doubt they do anything for air quality, what do you think?

    Server periodically unreachable?

I'm curious if other users are experiencing timeouts reaching midwest.social several times a day? I'm browsing through the summit and connect Android apps, for context. I'm unable to load anything (/all feed and posts) several times a day on this account so I just wanted to see if others are experiencing the same thing.

Edit: I hope my tone didn't come off as ungrateful, that was not my intent! I just wanted to sanity check if there was something wrong with my network or client(s). Thank you seahorse for your hard work!
