  • It makes him look like a tough guy without actually doing anything. He can get headlines that say “Canada bans TikTok”

  • Even then I’d say that’s more about the demographic of people who use Reddit more than Zoomers as a whole.

  • The amount of blaming “Hispanic” and black men I keep hearing from my liberal relatives (Guatemalan diaspora btw) is disgusting. They really can’t point to anything but racist accusations when things don’t go their way.

That, and the amount of blaming Russia, North Korea, and China for this is astounding.

Libs think they’re incredibly intelligent while saying drivel that isn’t too different from that guy babbling on a street corner.

  • The gen z subreddit gets brigaded by people who aren’t even gen z all the time. Not the best view of how that generation thinks.

  • I can’t help but feel a little vindicated after years of warning that Republicans are a political cockroach and being told that they were actually going to become obsolete after the “inevitable” Trump loss.

I started to get doubtful and thought Kamala had it by this week and I should have just shut up and waited.

  • This US election outcome seems to be testing the resolve of a lot of leftists who were earlier discussing how both parties served the same masters and change wouldn’t be that different under either one. A lot of them have quickly turned to doomerism after years of seemingly expecting this outcome.

In Guatemala it’s more of a shoulder shrug. We weren’t expecting much from Kamala and Trump didn’t really have any major impact on us. No more than every other President that’s been increasingly anti-immigrant

  • Been hearing that a Trump victory is particularly bad for Brazil. How true is this?

  • The more I see this happening the more I believe it

  • I love hearing liberal boomer expats in my country grumbling that every poc man is to blame and that only women can be relied on. That poc men like getting abused and other weird shit.

Kamala bragged about deporting more immigrants than Trump. You think that won them over? You think having Bill and Obama brow-beating them helped either? Fucking idiots.

  • I should have stuck with my gut and what it’s been telling me for the last couple of years: The Republican Party is a cockroach and the Democrats won’t be “replacing” them. Anyone who believed that drank the liberal Kool-Aid because of one good election yet again.

Also you aren’t being thrown into camps Jesus Christ. Idk what it is with Americans and these fantasies. It’s a hell of a lot worse in Guatemala and even we aren’t doing that shit. You don’t get the exciting WW2-era doomer world. Instead you get a boring modern one where legislative action is taken away gradually, making it all much more normalized.

  • Yeah you’re not ending up in camps. My country is in far worse shape than yours with lgbt rights and even we haven’t reached that point. Getting anti-lgbt legislation passed that makes it harder to get gender affirming care is more likely

  • And that was one of the big reasons people claimed Democrats would win on: abortion

  • It’s all of the above and North Korea for good measure

  • He was very similar to Trump for his time so he’d probably love it

  • I couldn’t sleep because I realized my dumbass should have stayed with the gut feeling that Trump had it.

  • As of now, Trump is in the lead with 137 EC votes to Kamala’s 99

  • I’m going to sleep soon but I guess I’ll find out if I should listen to my vibes/gut feeling (Trump) or listen to the part of me that keeps insisting Kamala will pull a close victory via electoral college.

  • Because Americans treat politics like religion and the anti-Trump propaganda has been very effective.

  • Politics are a religion for people in those deep blue/red states. My family in New York showed local polling stations with crowds of people waiting to vote. This is in Upstate New York, not even New York City where the real decision is made. I remember people getting vote-shamed for voting Nader at the time when New York went predictably blue as always.

The fear mongering from the media has worked on a lot of people and they legit think Trump will install a dictatorship and tear down every social service out there. That, and people really don’t know how the electoral system works and think every third-party voter is responsible for the loss. A shocking number have no idea how the electoral college works.
